Weight loss in menopause?

  • [SIZE="4"][FONT="Book Antiqua"]I was hoping I could get some suggesstion for lossing weight when in menopause. I am at 270 and would like to get to 150. Of course I am a carbaholic. I do find that I loss weight when I stay away from the whites(sugar, flour etc.) I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
  • It's slow - not a sprint - but definetely can happen. You've got the right idea!
  • South Beach diet has been my savior. I think menopause or a combination of age & menopause makes us more insulin resistant & pile on the pounds around the middle more. Diets with more complex carbs & healthy fats like olive oil and nuts seem to help with loss of fat in the abdominal area. South Beach also relieves the carb cravings. Exercise also helps with the symptoms of menopause as well as help with the weight loss.
