just a quick hello

  • hello!

a few months ago, i posted an intro in the main forum, but then life happened, (long story) and i disappeared for a few months, but here i am again - determined to shed (more than) a few pounds and get healthy. i finally gave in and ordered a scale the other day. yikes! i've been avoiding it for so long that i really don't know how much i weigh and i'm scared to know, but i know that someday, when i've lost a bunch, it will be nice to see how far i've come. Right now i'm just gonna stick with little goals. it's a lot less daunting than the big picture at the moment.

I hopped on the South Beach bandwagon today, and have been keeping a food/activity journal for a while now so i'm thinking the more people i have to be accountable to - the higher my chances for success. So along with my friends and family, what better support than a bunch of people in the same boat headed the same direction as me. I've been reading a lot of stuff in the forums and this just seems like such a great supportive community. I've found lots of helpful stuff already.

so, that's it for now, just wanted to say hi and i look forward to meeting you.
  • Welcome and I know you will find a lot of support on this website. And you're right we are all on the same boat.
  • Hi!!!
  • Hi!
  • Welcome back!

I've been keeping a food journal since January, and am constantly amazed at how much it helps LOL The week here or there that I think I am far too busy to write my stuff down, I walk away without any progress LOL

    best wishes!
  • Hello! Nice to meet you and this is definitely a warm supportive place to be!

Also a very sensible decision to make small achievable goals
  • Hi there.

I too am new here & look forward to getting to know you better. It is a long road. Twists, turns, pot holes, detours, and a few speed bumps. Don't forget your map, and always carry your compass.

I can't remember who it is, but someone around here has a quote on their signature that says "Failing to plan is planning to fail". That caught my eye and has really been a life saver for me. Sounds like you have a solid plan, and by golly, that is the first step to great success!
