My daughter and her husband are leaving for his Specialty School in Maryland at the end of July. Of all the things that have changed in my life, this one is the most difficult.
Some say that giving birth is the hardest, most painful part of motherhood. Other's say the teen years are the worst. I look back at those things and poo-poo them all because I think that the letting go...the letting them make their own mistakes part is the worst, the hardest and the most painful part of motherhood...like letting go of a large part of your heart or some other necessary organ.
Sad as this time is/will be, I know I have to find a good thing about it...even one...and I will be ok. I know that this is the kind of thing I used to eat over...now I have to find a way to help myself through this without destroying the golden opportunity having WLS has given me!
