My baby...Well, my grown up, woman kind of baby...

  • My daughter and her husband are leaving for his Specialty School in Maryland at the end of July. Of all the things that have changed in my life, this one is the most difficult.

Some say that giving birth is the hardest, most painful part of motherhood. Other's say the teen years are the worst. I look back at those things and poo-poo them all because I think that the letting go...the letting them make their own mistakes part is the worst, the hardest and the most painful part of motherhood...like letting go of a large part of your heart or some other necessary organ.

Sad as this time is/will be, I know I have to find a good thing about it...even one...and I will be ok. I know that this is the kind of thing I used to eat over...now I have to find a way to help myself through this without destroying the golden opportunity having WLS has given me!

    Deep breath, Angela...deep breath.
  • ahhh I am sending you a big hug!~
  • Maryland - there are airports in and around maryland. and there are quite a few of us who are only a few hours drive from there - you could visit - we could get together!

    it could be FUN!!!!!
  • I know its a bitter sweet moment and I can't imagine what I'm going to do when my dd (who's only 6 at the moment...going on 36 lol) leaves for college or gets married, but look at what a wonderful job you did raising her.

    Big big hugs from me

    Leenie
  • Ah, Angela.
  • Ouch!
She will always be your baby!!!! My got married and moved to Georgia had two grandchildren there and then moved to Alabama. I almost went nuts. But, I they can back and live close TG! Try and get the same kind of cell phone service, that is what my kids made us do. I hated the cell phone at first, but I can talk with them unlimited!!! You know I think there is a great spot to ski-dive in Maryland!!! LOL!!! Wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I remembered because of the 6-6 thingy. I'm having a nice one today. GC and DH took me to a Chinese buffet and it was really good. Didn't over eat! They also got me a Nintendo DS Crossword puzzle game. Thank God it wasn't roller blades or a skate board!! Suppose to go to the movies with DH tonight. I suggested that we just go makeout, but.........LOL!!! You kidding me I'm 57 y/o!!!!
