To those that don't do eggs....

  • What do you eat for breakfast on Phase I? I want to be successful when I start and unfortunately, I can't stand eggs. I can tolerate them when they're mixed into something else, but I don't like them when they're the main ingredient in the dish.

I've looked at the FAQ's and seen the "tired of eggs" thread. I found a few unique ideas, but I don't want to eat the same thing for breakfast every day! The things that I've seen that I've liked so far and might try:
    • Plain yogurt with SF Jello added
    • Chocolate Cheesecake Smoothie
    • Turkey/cheese wraps
    • Zucchini Puffs
    • Tuna "salad"
  • I don't mind eggs but sometimes I don't feel like cooking them. Dinner leftovers are always an option. This morning I had sauteed zucchini and a couple of turkey meatballs.
  • I had leftover pork chop, V8 and a yogurt! We have to think outside the darned box!
  • I'm open to the "non-traditional" breakfast, lol. These are good ideas, keep 'em coming!
  • Yeah, I have to say though, not sure I could do tuna in the morning...
  • In many countries fish is a traditional breakfast food. I've had tuna salad sandwhiches for breakfast, and I can tolerate them alot better than a donut. For some reason, even as a kid, I could not tolerate super sweet breakfasts. I could have a donut for dessert at lunch or dinner, but first thing in the morning, I'd feel sick and pukey if I ate donuts or pancakes with syrup or coffee cake.

I'm thinking I may have had blood sugar issues even then.
  • you gotta try some of the breakfast quiches and cups, they are delicious. I made a double batch last week and loved having them for breakfast and even one as a snack every now and then. I actually like them better warmed up in the microwave rather than fresh from the oven.
  • Cottage cheese is always an option for me. If I'm in a sweet mood I'll add some cinnamon and splenda w/ pecans and if I'm in a savory mood it'll be w/ tomatoes & Italian seasoning. And the protien packed cheese cakes are REALLY GOOD. You can make them as muffins and freeze them for when you want one. And lastly, there's a great recipe in the orange SBD cookbook for breakfast stacks. Homemade turkey sausage patties w/ sliced tomatoe and cheese. Those are FANTASTIC!!!
  • chili! i love chili for breakfast

    or lentil soup.
  • Glad to have another "non-egg" friend! I hate eggs, so I posted a thread about this a while ago. It's stickied in the FAQ and full of great ideas for Breakfast Alternatives to Eggs. Enjoy!
