Another newbie - would love some friends!

    My name is Becky . I am a mother to 3 boys and 2 stepsons. Ages 20, 18, 16, 14,& 5. I don't want to be the fat mom, I need more energy to keep up with these boys too! I'm tierd of being heavy. I haven't always been, but it really seems like once I turned 30 I lost control. Or maybe I just started drinking more beer and eating more pizza....either way I want to make a change. I currently weigh 183 and would really love to get down to 150 or so. I have tried WW and it worked for a while - but I have absolutely no self control. I signed up with Metabolic Research Center last week and am doing my pre-conditioning this week and start my meal plan on Friday. So far I've not done anything different. I gave myself one last weekend of "freedom" and intend to get serious about pre-conditioning in the morning. Has anyone been on or are they on MRC?

    You will find so much support here. I am a newbie as well. This is my second week on MRC -for a total of 3 weeks including the "detox". Really do try to cut back on your sugars and carbs and caffiene this week so you don't go nuts your first week OP. It's a wonderful plan. I had done W.W. in the past and lost 50 lbs, only to gain it back. This plan you will be eating healthy foods. It really does work. I lost 4 lbs on "detox", 6 lbs the 2nd week, and I don't weigh in until Weds, but so far, my home scale shows 3.5, so we will see on Weds. There is great support here. Just stick with the plan and it will work for you.

  • Thanks so much for the welcome & the MRC tips! I got up right away this morning and checked the forum and just smiled when I saw these posts. Weight loss is so hard to talk about to the average person...I really need the support I think I'm gonna find here. Thanks again!

    I figured this was the best place to start (seeing as I just joined minutes ago). I am a 19-year-old college student looking to re-start my life! I began my diet last Monday and am already down 6 lbs! I'm sure it is because I have lots of weight to lose. Anyway, I'd like to make some new friends as well!
