I don't want to be a fat chick anymore!!!!

  • I went to my 20th HS reunion last September, and had to go back as a fat chick. It really was hard, but I went and had a great time. Figuring out what I was going to wear was stressful....the day of the reunion I almost didn't go. Luckily, my sweet husband helped me through this. I want to be healthy and stop torturing myself for "letting myself go." I'm here ready to change. The one thing I have finally figured out is that losing weight is going to take work. Daily work. I was under some illusion that if I just ate healthy foods, my body would shed the extra pounds naturally. Kind of like magic. So, anyway, I just felt like saying hi.

I am 38, a mom of 3 kids (14, 10 and 4), married 16 years, and ready to feel great again. I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!

Have a great day, and I look forward to this journey. I have about 75 pounds to lose, and I started my journey today.
  • Hi and welcome!

I'm glad you're here and I'm happy to see that you are already making your way around the forums. Great isn't it?

Something in your intro (probably the reference to healthy foods) reminded me of Glory87. Perhaps not magic but darned effective. Please feel free to read and post whereever, whenever but I think you might enjoy Glory's story here http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84601
  • We sound a lot alike! I'm 37, with two young (3 and 5) children....and I felt yucky all the time!

Do you know which plan you're going to follow? I started South Beach...(good carbs) and have been stunned...I haven't had sugar in FIVE WEEKS!! And I feel great, and I don't miss it!!

There's lots of great plans, and lots of great people on here. I check in several times a day....it helps me to keep on track!

    Good luck!
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • . . . so glad you found us . . .
  • Wow - SusanB. You are not kidding! Glory's story is so close to what I have experienced that I am stunned. Thank you so much for passing on the link. I'm not alone. Someone else out there knows how I feel. For so long I have been wondering, "What's wrong with me? Why can't I do this?" Her story has given me a feeling of hope in a way I have never felt before.

Thank you for the kind welcome.
  • Twynn -

I agree with you - when I do not eat sugar, I feel so much better too! Good for you!
