Whats on YOUR grocery list??

  • Hey everyone! My name is Courtney and ive been on WW since january. I quit for about 6 weeks but restarted today. Anyway. To get prepared for my upcoming and very exciting week, i have been making my grocery list. I was wondering what everyone else purchases and items they HAVE to buy everytime they go to the grocery store.. Thought it would be interesting to see! I was only 3 pounds away from my 10% goal when i stopped going (dang vacation)..but now im back and ready to get to it. I now have 11 pounds til my 10%, so that is my short term goal! Cant wait to get that keychain=)
  • Fruit/Veg. (Apples, pears, cauliflower, celery, asparagus... anything I'm in the mood for.)

The produce section is the one area of the store that I spend the most time walking through. It could be that fruit/veg is consumed quickly... or that I only buy a few days worth at a time... but it's always at the top of my grocery list.
  • LOTS OF PRODUCE!!!! I usually get spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, corn, tomatoes, onions, strawberries, pre made salads, and those mixed fruit salads.

Seafood - plenty of fish, crab, and shrimp.

Chicken - boneless skinless chicken breasts and chicken tenders.

Snacks - nuts (usually the Planters South Beach mix), peanut butter, and the jello sugar free dark chocolate pudding cups.

Brown rice and chicken broth - for my side dish.

ETA: Flavored water. I can't live without it!

I think that about sums it up....
  • Fruit and vegetables:
I always, always buy grapes. I'm obsessed with them and can eat a whole bag in one sitting! (although that's not very cost-effective, haha!)
Also, various other fruits, whatever I'm in the mood for really. Usually have apples and strawberries in my fridge. Just bought watermelon the other day-yum!
Spinach, cherry tomatoes, carrots (easy to throw together a quick salad. I also put spinach on almost EVERYTHING)
    Onions (I like them grilled)
Baking potatoes (great with salsa for a very filling meal!)

    "In the middle aisles"
High fiber bread (I like Nature's Own double fiber--I make low fat grilled cheese!)
Cereal- either Fiber 1 or Special K Vanilla Almond
Fiber 1 bars (what a treat!)
100 calorie bags of Kettle Corn
Caramel Corn rice cakes (great with light cool whip in the middle of them!)
Whole wheat pasta (good with olive oil/vinegar or marinara sauce, with lots of veggies)
    SF FF Pudding-- all flavors!
Cans of Progresso WW soup--so good and 0 points for half the can!
Cans of pumpkin (great in smoothies)

    Dairy
    Fat-free shredded cheese
WW slices of American cheese (for my grilled cheeses!)
WW Yogurt--I live by this stuff. I eat at least 1 a day, sometimes 2. I eat them with fruit, cereal, in smoothies, yummm!

    Frozen
    Boca burgers
Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine pizzas
Frozen veggies to throw into meals
WW ice cream or ice cream bars. I love the cookies and cream bars, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream!

As you can see...I love going to the grocery
  • Grocery Store
I eat a lot of the WW yogurt, too! My local grocery store has started carrying the WW cheeses and I keep them on hand. They are also getting in the Alternative Bagels which are big sellers. I often keep a small can of almonds in the car so that I can snack on a few if I get hungry driving home from work.

  • my grocery store doesnt carry the weight watchers cheeses=( I usually get the craft no fat though and its 1 point. I lovvve the ww muffins in the morning with some milk, they are sooo delicious! Another thing i ALWAYS buy is the little traingles of the laughing cow cheese, not sure if anyone knows what im talking about but they are so good and only 1 point per little triangle, they are really creamy and awesome! But anyway, Thanks everyone for replying! I think it gave me some insight to what everyone else is buying...i realized my list is pretty much the same with a little differences=)

Hope everyone has a happy week!!!!!
  • I shop the store perimeter--produce, meat, fish, dairy--and then will allow myself 8-10 items from the middle of the store. Those items are usually Bear Naked Fit Granola for breakfast parfaits, York Peppermint Patties for my favourite 1 point after lunch snack, coffee and diet soda.

  • I am re-starting WW myself, so this post is especially helpful.

The Laughing Cow cheese is really good for being as low fat as it is!

I love fresh produce, but I hate how fast it spoils when there is just one person eating it.

    Good luck to you!
  • Salad mix, spinach, tomatoes, grapes, bananas

Boca burgers, boneless skinless chicken breasts/boneless skinless thighs, fish

    Egg beaters

Weight Watchers English muffins and bagels

    2% American cheese slices

    Brown rice

Bouillon cubes(chicken to season rice and beef to season vegetables)

    Hope this helps.
  • I think the WW cheese is wayy too expensive.
    But, what remains constant:
    Laughing Cow Light
    Lite Wheat Bread
    Frozen Boneless/Skinless Chicken breasts
    ALWAYS strawberries and oranges
    romaine
    cherry tomatoes
  • In most cases, I agree about the WW cheese. But at our Super Wal-Mart, an 8 oz. bag of the shredded stuff is actually cheaper than the Kraft 2%, so I go with that.

But the bag of the pre-sliced cheddar...no way. I can get 8 oz. of Cabot's reduced fat cheese for much cheaper, and I just portion it out into 1 oz. pieces. They even have little marks on the package for that very purpose.

I really should pick up more Laughing Cow Light. I love that garlic/herb one, and it is way low in points.

I guess regular items on my list would be

    frozen or canned veggies
    light whole wheat bread
    reduced fat cheese
    bananas & strawberries
    lower-priced in-season fruits
    ground turkey (93/7)
    brown rice
    wh.wh. pasta/noodles
cereals--something for the kids, and something "healthy" for dh & myself
  • I following WWcore, so here's my list
