Terrific Tuesday

  • Hi Everyone,

Sherri....You have really been busy. It's a great idea to get all those gift certificates and a lot of work too. You asked if I liked being leader. I was leader before our current leader. She is finishing her second year. I liked it okay, but I like working with the programs better. The women wanted me to be leader again and I gave in to them, and was elected leader again. They like a lot of my ideas and know that I will keep them active.

One of the ideas that I want to try is: Wrapping a gift and let member bid on it. They bid how much weight they can lose and if the highest bidder loses that much weight the next week, she gets the gift. If she doesn't lose the amount of her bid, the gift is put back up for auction again. You could also make it for a month instead of a week.
I'm concerned about the KOPS. It's very hard to come up with ideas for them. Some of our KOPS stay at the bottom of their leeway, so "at or below goal" is not a big deal for them. They need something that they have to work toward, something that keeps them interested in the meetings. If anyone has some good ideas for KOPS, let us know.

Wendy....I hope Brandon is feeling better today.

Eleni.....I'm with you. I avoid buffets if I can. Some of the ladies go out to eat after our TOPS meeting. I go with a small group to Wendy's. You can get good salads there, or a baked potato, or a cup of chili.

    CC....We miss you!

I got in my walk this morning and like Sherri, I feel motivated to lose and I know that if I believe in my ability to succeed....I can.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Nita,

Hi there. Yes I have been busy. But it is sure motivating me. I love doing this. Finding things and researching. I love doing the contests and programs myself.

So are you the new leader for this year again? That is what it sounded like you said. If so then put your title in your signature then we will remember.

I ate some bad foods yesterday so I am going to be very good today to make up for it.

I found this on one of the sites the site is called the lighter brigade. I hope it motivates someone or you can use it as a program. That is what it is for. Let me know if you like it. I printed it and I am going to use it as a program myself.

    Motivation

M is for Main! You've heard the expressions "main man" and
"you're my main friend". Well, you have to be your own main
person! There are other people who are important to you in your
life, but you have to be the "main" one!

O is for Only! Whatever it is that you want to do, whether
it's going out for that new job or whether it's losing some weight,
you are the "only" one who can do this for yourself. And it should
be "only" for you not ,others that you choose to do it.

T is for Timing! Things take time! You don't think Monet
painted those water lilies overnight. Everything that is worthwhile
is being nourished by time! It takes "time" to plan good menues,
and "time" to exercise. Give yourself "time"...You deserve it!

I is for Individual! Even if you have a twin or 5 or 6 siblings,
you are still an individual. An individual is one that makes up his
or her own mind and that beats his or her drum to a certain rhythm.
    You are an "individual"

V is for Victory. We usually hear this word at the Olympics,
but every day you can feel victorious! When you plan to do something
and you accomplish it, it is a victory -- no matter how big or small!
    Be "victorious!"

A is for Attitude. There are three kinds of attitude -- positive,
negative, and numb. Which one are you? Two lead you down the hill,
and one takes you to the top! Trying to find something positive in the
things around you will guide your attitude in a positive direction!
    Keep your "attitude" Positive

T is for Tolerance. There is so much that can bother us in a day.
Our jobs; sometimes even our family and friends! We are tested each
day to find out what our breaking points are. If tolerance was a book,
each of its pages would have only one word printed on it, and that
word would be patience. Be patient and practice "tolerance!"

I is for Ideas. Always thinking of ideas is an exercise that few
practice. Most people start off by saying, "Hey, I got a great idea,
" but they never finish it. It just stays an idea. The trick is to
continually think about your ideas until they become a reality.

O is for Optimism. Half full or half empty? You've heard that
expression so many times. You can think that things are gonna work
out, or you can think that things will never work out! If you believe
that things in your life will never work out, trust me, they never will!
But if you can think about something, and keep thinking about the
joys and happiness it will bring you, you will be that optimistic person
you've always wanted to be! Stay "optimistic!"

N is for Nerve. It takes nerve to get on the roller coaster at Six
Flags! It takes nerve to bungee jump! For me, it takes "nerve "to
get up here and give a program. And even though I have to read
what I give it's good information that we all need. Anything worthwhile
    takes a little nerve!

Put all of these together and you have "Motivation"...
What we all need to get the job done!

My daughter just loves this smilely face.LOL

    Have a great day everyone.

    Have an awsome day guys!!!!!!
  • Hello everyone!

Hope you are all doing well!!

I can't weigh in tonight (work) so I won't post on the Easter Challange altho my scale says -1. I have had the most brutal cold and have not been able to work out at all. I do feel much better now and will pop in a pilates tape after this post but I probably am 2 days away from resuming cardio, so Summer I will be a little late for our coffee date!

Sherri, if those gift certificates don't motivate then no prize will! What a little worker bee you are!

Nita, I love the "bid what you will lose" idea! And I agree with you on the KOPS are harder part, seems like everything is geared to lose weight and maintaining is what you have to do. Our chapter has let the KOPS set 5lb margins for contests to make things a little different and we have had one "stay the same" (KOPS only) contest since I joined. One member stayed the same for 14 weeks!

Well must run, I want to work out and clean up the old homestead for the sitter. Take care and you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

  • I gained last night
Well good afternoon all- Brandon's fever broke sometime last night, so I'm back to work. Thanks everyone for your concerns. puppy is awesome. She is great. Yellow lab and golden retriever. We named her KC However today is her first day alone. I left the radio on for her. I gained Monday-only 1 pound, but I knew it was coming (that cocktail thing, and feeling poofy). I did have a great compliment last night- One girl wanted to elect me to do all the programs for a year. I could make that a full time job. Like sherri, I enjoy coming up with stuff like that. I also do an occasional tops news. When I do that though, I spend days on it.
We have some wonderfull ideas floating around here.
Eleni- weigh to go at not going to the buffet. OUr favorite places can be our worst nightmare.

Nita-you go girl, great choice instead of buffets.

Sherri-you go girl Thanks for the motivation. I'm making copies.

Christie- congrats on the co leader position.
CC- Sorry you aren't feeling well.
Well everyone have a great day- enjoy it.
  • Just a thought
I was looking at how many of us on here got elected for some kind of office this year in our individual chapters, and all I have to say ...........

    IS WAY TO GO US!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure we will all do better this year and now that we have to look out for others it may just make our srtuggles a little less intimidating, so keep up the good work ladies and lets make 2002 the best year yet!!!! :sheep:
  • hi all,
