  • No. Not me! I do some stupid thing sbut I think even I would stop before then!! No the guy on the tv the other night. Did any of you see it??

What bothered me even more was the tiny girl being given a burger and chips - she was only a baby!!!!
  • Something tonn dad? OMG i hate the children who are obese and have no say, it disgusts me so much.

I didnt see it but Im hoping its on record because I really wanted to watch it. I find things like that absolutely motivate me to lose my weight.
  • was it bbc 3?

if so check out iplayer.. id love to watch that too!
  • Ohh ya I saw the end of it and everyone was eating chips and burgers and she did let the baby bite the burger and the voice over was saying it's all about education haha yup they didnt seem to learn II just hope the man did!
  • OMG....
    n the 57 styone teenager....
    cudnt believe it....
the fat deposits he had removed weigh more than i did at top weight!....
    remarkable seeing that womens progress....
  • which channel was it on?!! i wanna see it!
  • His caloric intake was 30,000 calories before his surgery.I cannot imagine how one person could eat that in one day. At least he is moving in the right direction.
  • i felt for the teenage kid who was really big, because clearly his mum admitted she fed him like that and its just disgraceful. i know what its like getting bigger from bad food by families and its just awful when they see u getting bigger but dont stop or say anything!
  • I missed this too but would love to see it. It looks like it was on C4 http://www.channel4.com/science/micr...dad/index.html - i'm trying to see if it's on 4 on demand http://www.channel4.com/4od/get4od/index.jsp i'll post if i manage to, if anyone else manages first please share!
  • Just to say that it's apparently being repeated tonight (Sunday 18th) on More 4 at 10pm - hope you manage to catch it (I'll be watching!).
  • I didn't see the show but i saw an advert for it. I don't understand how it is even possible to get that fat, let alone how someone could let themselves get that fat. What is it, a medical problem, laziness, gluttony to the extremes? Its crazy.
  • Let's all pat ourselves on the back because "we are not THAT fat."

Sorry, some of these comments are incredibly insensitive, especially on a WEIGHT LOSS site.
  • It was a fascinating but awfully sad programme. They mentioned in passing that it was due to abnormal metabolism (I suppose that's not surprising) but I really wish they'd gone into a lot more detail about that or why it's apparently increasing. His progress was incredible, good luck to him and all of the people in the programme.

    Such as?

    Calling them fat and stupid?

Well, they were fat and they were stupid.

I think it's ridiculous to tiptoe around the truth. If someone is 73 stone (that's 1022 lb for our US friends), then they are fat. If they think it's OK to feed a 5 month old baby a burger, then they are stupid.

    Being sensitive won't help here.
  • I totally agree with Robsia. I honastl beleive this is largely down to fast food. Aparently in places like India and China the demand for fast food is becoming really quite high and I can guarantee they'll be starting to show signs of obesity soon too. And yet nobody is trying to stop it, why? Because there's money to be made!
