WOW 2 months out

  • I hit my first two months post op on this month. I actually also hit the first year of when I started the whole journy. I have lost 34lbs since surgery and in the last year 50lbs! I had a nice long post ready to last week and of course something happened and it all disappeared!

Last month has been okay. I have been having a real problem with energy levels. I added some more iron to my daily routine and I think I am finally starting to feel normal again. Has anyone noticed that PMS is worse after WLS? I seem more cranky! I even got snippy with my boss and I normally do not get snippy with anyone!

WLS and my job is a challenge for sure. It is hard to eat out for almost all your meals during the week. Of course I am still a relative newbie and do not know what I can and can not tolerate. I have only had one week in the past month that I have not eaten something that has sent me running for the restroom (or thankfull I had a trash bag in the car) Not pretty.

Cant wait to have my first blood work done first of month to see if my iron is getting better or not. Got to get my energy level back up so I can start moving more!
  • WTG!!! That is fantastic! What a wonderful thing to do for yourself!

  • Woot! Woot!
Hon, I'm so happy to hear from you. You are really doing wonderful, you know. Having to eat out is a challenge, that's for sure! As for throwing up...I think it will lessen with time. Sure has for me. I still eat too fast and that is a problem for me. Sorry about the iron level. EAT LIVER!!!! My Nut didn't tell me anything about how to take iron and I've asked several seasoned WLS people and most say they crush it and take it with a small amount of OJ. That it should be taken with and acid like vinegar or citrus, or chewable C. It shouldn't be taken within two hours either side of calcium, dairy, or your multivitamin because most contain calcium. And the one that surprised me most was don't take it within two hours either side of tea or coffee. I don't do very many chewable things and am rethinking about how I take my supplements. If one person would have told me this stuff I would haven't thought much about it, but there have been several. If anyone thinks this is bull, please let me know! LOL!! I'm just trying to keep as healthy as I can and head off any problems. I'm like you knew my iron was on the low side because of the energy level. I googled iron-rich foods and try to concentrate on making sure I have a little everyday. Keep up the good work, Jen. Life is good!!!!
  • i just bring tuna packets to work and i eat that everyday. it takes the pressure off of my having to go somewhere and get something i can have. that or boiled eggs. you have done great!
  • liver - bleccch!!!!!

i like to take some thinly sliced deli meats, a few shreds of carrot/cucumber/tomato, and roll everything up in a romaine lettuce leaf!! YUMMY!!!!!!
