Hooray, I get to change siggie today. I successfully altered overall goal sig but when I changed start/end/current wt. on mini goal, I see box with red x.

Any tips?

I would try deleting it from your siggie and then copying the link in again. One / or : may have been deleted and screwed up the whole thing.
