since i had my surgery in jan, i have been going to the er at our local hospital to weight cause my scale at home only went to 330. today at walmart i got a good wide one that goes to 400 so now i can check my weight more that once or twice a month. i think it will help me be more accountable.
My doctor told me that I have to weigh myself as part of our contract...I just have to remember my addictive personality and not weigh myself 4 times a day! But it is nice at this point to know where I am weekly.
We're off to see the scales, the wonderful world of scales........you can hum this to "We're Off To See the Wizard" from Wizard of Oz. Good for you Mistymed! I always hated to have to buy a scale because I couldn't find one that would take my bulk. I kind of like my old one because it always weighed you 8 pounds lighter than the doctor's. LOL!!! You are doing well, and doesn't it feel good to start getting back into the realm of normal things. Weighing in on a scale that actually take your weight, buying clothes off the rack, being able to set on a wooden chair with out first testing to see if it will break, not afraid to set on someone's couch and have it suck your butt to the bottom and have to have your DH pull you out or roll out sideways on the floor, go to a department store bathroom and not have to go in sideways, etc. If you can't do all these things yet, you will and very, very soon. This list isn't meant to discourage anyone, but to tell you that there is light at the end of all this WLS stuff and there is a very good world out there just waiting for you.
