I'm In Onederland!!!!

  • I just weighed myself in my skivies and I weigh.......198.5!!!!!! I'm in onederland!!!! I made more room on the loser bench!!! I'm telling everyone, I'm calling people I don't even know and telling them. I'm in ONEDERLAND!!! Oh, My GOSH!!!

I had a weird doctor visit yesterday. It was my 6 mos. check up with PCP and he asked me not to lose anymore weight and cautioned me about becoming malnutritioned. I'm right on the low end of protein. DANG IT! He asked me how I would stop losing weight. I told he my WLS surgeon set my goal at 180, but personal goal was 170. He told me if I set a big plate of food in front of you could you eat it. I told him no I wouldn't want too. He said no, could you eat it. I told him no that I would throw up. He has a patient that he thinks is getting to skinny and asked me how she could stop losing weight. I told him to have her add some carbs into her diet. And talked to me about another patient that had to have a reversal because she was so deathly ill!!! I have a weird doctor! LOL!! But who cares....I'M IN ONEDERLAND!

I've got to go call someone!!! And since it is only 6:30 in the morning, they will not be happy!!! lol!!
  • Just have to pop over on an unfamiliar thread because I love to see someone cruising into onderland!! Congratulations -- you have done an awesome job!!!
  • Congrats!!
  • way to go nancy!!! keep up the great work.
  • Congratulations!!!
  • you are my hero, nancy!!!! congratulations!!!!

about your doc - up your protein!!!! you apparently need it. keep on doing what you're doing. your body will tell you when you've lost enough [generally - there are exceptions, though!]. suggest to the doc that he talk to the surgeon - how on earth does he know when 'enough is enough'??? what's he basing that on?? maybe it's the fact that you've lost a lot QUICKLY.
  • I am so glad that you made it over this HUGE wall honey! Is Onederland as beautiful as I remember????

Follow the surgeon's instructions and I'll bet the blood work they do will tell you if you are getting enough of everything. No worries.

Just a suggestion...I would take the Doc's weight goal and not set it 10lbs lighter for yourself...I did that at one point in my life and really felt bad about myself when I was at a goal weight but wanted to be thinner...you might be setting yourself up for feelings of failure.

    Hugs for you!!

    Angela
  • Congrats!! That is great. I am not a poster here but I always lurk. (Best friend had the surgery last year)
  • Thanks everybody so much. I'm still chasing my DH. Just once I would like to weigh less then him; when we got married in 1970 we both weighed 140 lbs. I was 208 - him 204; I went to 204 - DH went to 200. That dang guy went to 197 this morning!!! It isn't really a big deal, but I've never weighed less than anybody!!! LOL!!!! I'm still on a natural high.
  • Awwwww Nancy I'm so happy for you Congratulations sweetie.
