Well, I signed up for 4 weeks of butt-kicking from a personal trainer.
I've been going to the gym steady for two months and lost 21 pounds in total, so I figure I'm going to step it up a notch and try to see what I can do in the next 4 weeks.
Good luck with the PT, Betty.. I did this last summer and it was the best investment I could have made with regard to exercising..
My PT taught me how to move, not just work out.. Movement is such an important part of weightloss.. I realized that while I had lost a bunch of weight, my body was moving as if I was still 300 lbs.. So he taught me how to teach myself the right way to walk and run.
In addition, I learned the best way to utilize the gym equipment, so now any exercises I do use as much of my body as possible, not just one or two muscle groups... It was a fantastic, if expensive learning experience..
I got a trainer three weeks ago. I met with her twice a week and went to spin classes twice a week. It really helped me to get over the plateau I had been stuck in. Good luck with the trainer. Like Dan said it is a great investment. I fully intend on getting back with my trainer when I come back.
Enjoy yourself and push yourself. The rewards are great.
