Do activity points take away from daily?

  • If my Flex points are supposed to be 20 points per day. If I have 3 activity points that day. Did I only use 17 points that day? Should I actually be eating 23 points for that given day?

  • If you have 20 points for the day, you should be eating 20 points. If you earn activity points (AP), you can either use them that day or not use them (you can't save them). If you don't use them, you should see quicker weight loss but if you need them, they are there. Make sense? I almost never use mine because I find that if I eat my points and my AP, I don't lose any (or very little) weight.
  • Good question. I've been told that some people don't eat their activity points for a day. Not sure if it's something that should be done or not. And if you do go over your alloted points for a day, if you then go over, are you using your activity points or your 35 extra flex points?

Sorry to jump in with another question on your thread, and hope I made sense.
  • If you go over your target, the points are first taken from any activity points earned (if any) since they are only good for that 1 day and then from your flex points.

Also, I would encourage everyone to at least think about eating some of their activity points. Your body needs fuel to recover from the exercise you just did. The statement "If you don't use them, you should see quicker weight loss" is not true for everyone for this reason. Besides, if you can eat a little more and still lose the weight why not?
  • Cool, thanks for the explanations!
  • I agree with modkitten - at least give a shot at eating your APs, or at least eat some of them. So if you earn 3 APs in a day, at least eat one or two of them, if not all three (I'm one who definitely eats her APs, I get cranky if I don't as my blood sugar drops).
