We just got a Trader Joes in twon and I was wondering for those of you who shop there what are some of your on plan items that you buy there??
thanks JAMIE
Gosh, I live at TJ's! My DH's friends call us the Trader Joes house.
They have reduced fat cheddar cheese sticks! I like them much better then the Mozzarella sticks. They sell a mire poux, chopped celery, carrots and onions that is great for everything.
Sliced portabella mushrooms for a veggie in my eggs. Whole portabella mushrooms, baby bok choy, green onions, zuccini, and Very Teri sauce for grilling! the pasta spice blend is wonderful. the vanilla the best price around. The Greek FF yogurt "Fage" is lovely smooth and soft tasting. I add vanilla and splenda to make a desert parfait.
They have nice LF or FF salads. The frozen raspberries are half the price of regular grocery stores plus organic (and perfect in yogurt parfait). Frozen spinach, artichoke hearts, and ede mame are all nive to up you veggie intake.
They have a nice spelt (whole wheat) pilaf. I make it in the rice cooker and it turns out perfect. Fresh salsa, humus and much more.
Read labels and enjoy.
I buy my kashi crackers there and also enjoy the fage yogurt. They make a fiber cereal (Tjs brand) that I consider to be very close to fiber one so I count it as that and find it very tasty! I buy my frozen fruits there and a ton of veggies/salad! I love their frozen fajita mix, which is just veggies and chicken.
And they have great deals on fresh flowers too! I know that's not diet related but just thought I'd share!
Have fun!
