I'm just popping online for a sec before bed.....I need something from you girls!
DS#2's (in Army basic) girlfriend is coming down tomorrow afternoon and we are to make a bunch of one page decorated inspirational messages for son.......I need motivational quotes of some sort.........and thought of all you girls here! One liners, short phrases, even scriptures if you can think of some. We want to send him a motivational care package so he can pull them out whenever he needs some umph! LOL
We will probably start working on it early evening so as many as you girls can come up with would grately be apriciated!!
I was going to post this on the weekly thread but thought others may enjoy reading what everyone comes up with.
Of course these are not weight loss motivational posters we are making......but I know that the phrases, lines you all come up with can be used for that purpose as well for all of us!
thanks you all ahead of time!

I'm not sure how 'motivational' these are, but I have always liked them.

Well tonight we put together some rather colorful pages of quotes....I think in all we did 25 different quotes....besides your alls....I pulled some from online.
The girls and I got creative and actually got into the quotes.....like one I did was
“You’ll never achieve extraordinary results by taking average measures.” Skwigg
I drew a measuring tape, ruler and one of those compass looking halfmoon measuring instruments....and then I wrote the words around the items...
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" – Confucius
This one I drew from lower left hand corner to the upper right hand corner a staircase........at the bottom step I drew a guy in army fatigues stepping on the 1st step.
"I recommend you take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves." Earl of Chesterfield.
I made a HUGE clock face with the minute lines done in red, the word "minutes" written in red.....and then some confetti all around the clock.
a couple of the ones the girls did....
"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Harold R. McAlindon
DD drew a winding pathway surrounded by grass and a guy on the grass walking and where he had walked there was a path cutout of the grass.
"Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine." Ralph Waldo Emerson
DS's girlfriend drew a HUGE sun on the left side of the page.....a guy's body all in BLACK.......and a big shadow on the ground.
After we finished with the 25 different quotes........we took glitter pens and signed our names to the front side of a manilla envelope and addressed it to him........we are letting that dry and tomorrow we will decorate the backside of the envelope.....then mail it out!
It was great fun!!! We were able to do something together with his girlfriend and hopefully inspire him when he gets them.
That was a FABULOUS idea!! You are so great to do that *hugs!!*
Luv,
Ratkitten
