Body Pump

  • If there is another thread about Les Mill's Body Pump, then I am sorry. I tried the search button and it isn't working out. I love my class!!! I go Tuesdays and Thursdays. I used to go on Saturdays, but it is at like 8 am and that is a tad early for my weekend. I love the music, I like the intensity. I am sweating like crazy when I come out of there.

I've been doing it since the end of January and I definitely notice a difference. My quads are rock hard. My arms appear to flap less. lol My biceps are a bit more noticeable. My endurance and stamina are much better, too. I love the way I feel when I leave the class. I was definitely nervous when I first took it, but I am sooooo glad I did. Any other Body Pumpers here?
  • Oh ME!!! I love BodyPump. In fact, I went today!
I feel so buff when I'm in the class. Hehe.
If I do a BodyPump class followed by BodyStep, I feel like Wonder Woman!
  • Yep! I love Body Pump

I was also there this morning - Must be keen too since it was at 6:10am lol and its already freezing in the wee hours and pitch black!

I have definitely noticed a huge difference since I started going in January. I used to do just a lot of cardio and body weight squats, lunges etc at bootcamp a bit of boxing/kick boxing but Pump has definitely stepped it up a notch.

I try and do the class at least 3 times a week
  • YAY!! So glad I am not the only one! Body Step? Do you like that better than Body Pump? I went to his website and there are like 6 different types of classes. My gym only offers Body Pump and Body Combat. I've never taken the combat class, though. Have you tried it? Let me know how it is!

Lyria - You are DEFINITELY dedicated going in at 6:10. I complain about 8:30 on Saturday morning. lol I commend you! You're right. Pump has stepped it up a notch.
  • I do the Bodu Combat class - it's great fun I was such an unko to start with though lol, I had NO balance and kept nearly falling over on some of the kicks :P

I'd enjoyed the boxing aspect of boot camp so Body Combat was a given for me to try. I also like Boxfit (but I don't think that is Les Mills) and RPM (or spin) which is great...although our gym also has a "Ride" class which is a LOT harder than a normal RPM - the instructor knows most of us by name and knows just how much to push us. It's good.

Sapphdia - heh...if I am not working Saturday mornings (real estate job - blech) then I do the gym "gauntlet" Spin, Combat and Pump all one after the other! from 8:30 to 11:30 lol.
  • My sister is trying to get me to take Body Combat, but I have no balance, either, and was not a big fan of taebo. Maybe I'll give it a try. I'm trying to be more open minded about my gym activities. I've never liked doing classes, because I was a bit self conscious, but I'm stepping out there more.

WOW, LYRIA!! Your "gauntlet" scares me!! The thing is, before I wondered how people could spend so much time in the gym. I hated working out, so a half hour was pushing it! For some reason, I love going to the gym and I can spend almost 2 hours in there.
  • the previous gym i was a member at had the les mills classes. that's where I did kickboxing for the first time with body combat. I swore by the class it was awesome and helped me lose 50 lbs (before kids!) unfortunately the gym closed and no other gym offered the classes. So now I do turbo jam videos they are a great workout!
  • Wow! Body combat helped you lose 50 lbs? I might have to give it a try after all.

I haven't been to Body Pump for over a week, but I have been lifting weight at the gym instead. I am going back on Thursday. I hope it isn't too hard on me. I was just getting ready to add a little more weight, but I think I will hold off on that now until I get a couple more classes under my belt. Wish me luck!
