What i eat

  • 6am--weight control oatmeal--150 cals, 2 grams fat

    8am--large banana

    10am--unsalted almonds--100 cals, 9 grams Fat

12pm--4 ounces shake n bake chicken, 2 cups lettuce, 1 cup broccolli

    2pm--apple

    4pm--shake n bake chicken(250 cals) corn (80 cals) 1 cup brown rice (150 cals)

is it okay eating every 2 hours and is this an acceptable meal plan?
  • Hey!

This doesn't look too bad to me. It's OK to eat every 2 hours.

I think you need to be careful about that shake 'n' bake. That can sometimes have more calories than you think. Also, check your calories on everything. Brown rice, 1 cup cooked, has over 200 calories. How do you check your calories? A book, Fitday, Daily Plate?

Otherwise, this seems OK--you're on the right track. Now you just need to add some variety here and there.

  • Shake 'N Bake has a lot of sugar in it. Looks like you could use some dairy & good fats also.
  • It looks fine, but I'd try to get in more veggies.
  • Corn is a grain (carb) and not a vegetable. Your food plan looks low in fiber. The quality of food can be improved. What type of lettuce - iceberg? You should go for spinach.

For me 8 oz of protein in a day is a bit much. I typically have between 5-6 oz
  • I like to eat ever 2-3 hours too. As long as you are staying within your calories its definitely ok to eat that often. I agree that you could use some more veggies. I aim for at least 5 or 6 serves a day.
  • I'd definitely try for more variety in veggies. I didn't see anything yellow or orange on there (corn is really more of a starch). What about squashes? Peppers? Tomatoes? Try to throw in some different kinds of greens, not just lettuce - field greens, baby spinach, etc.

I also don't see anything that provides a good amount of calcium - really important to prevent osteoporosis.

Obviously this is just one day ...so you might be getting variety elsewhere!
