oh no! another newbie!

  • Howdy!

    So...a little bit about myself.

I'm horse crazy (hence the username) - my avatar is my horse from a while ago (when I was skinny...skinnier) - I'll update it once I can convince mum (also on the site) to take more current pictures. Over the past few years I've battled depression, anxiety and have been diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome (which is more or less under control right now).

I joined Weight Watchers with my mom (traveling michele) this past summer and have lost between 10 and 15 pounds - depending on the day (I fluctuate way up and way down a lot - which is probably my biggest challenge).

My mom led me to this site - I'm looking to find a bit more support from people my own age...
  • Hey GoneRiding, and Glad your mom pointed you here!

Well, I'm sure your mom can point you around too, but here are some areas you might want to check out:

    1. Our WW forums - great ideas and support from other WW members
    2. The "Depression and Weight" forum - because depression/anxiety issues present their own challenges for weight loss.

Congratulations on your losses so far...stick around, read, and post - can't wait to get to know you better.
  • Welcome! It is just great that you are setting goals while you are still young enough to have more time to enjoy the "healthy you" years!!

Horse riding is such a beautiful sport. I really admire all those who are good at it.
  • Hi there GoneRiding

Your mom mentioned you'd like to join up! I'm glad to see you did. Along with the places Mandalinn suggested, you might also like the 20-something's for people close to your age. (Even though you aren't quite 20. No worries, they're a friendly group ^^) Stick around & keep posting. We're all here to help support you!

    Best of success!!!
  • Thanks for the welcomes everybody!

I've been lurking around all the aforementioned forums and maybe will muster up the courage to actually post on one tomorrow.
  • Welcome! It is great having you here!
  • Welcome! I don't know exactly how old you are, but the 20 somethings forum is great and super supportive. The depression forum is also pretty great. I'm 23 and have also battled depression and anxiety, i'm also 5'6" and started at 196, so it sounds like we have a ton in common on this wieght loss journey. PM me if you ever need any extra support or just an ear.
