Someone noticed!

  • I had a NSV yesterday at work, when two different people commented that I was looking "skinnier."

These aren't people who have anything to gain by saying so (i.e, sucking up to me for some reason), and I don't really even talk with them much, so I was thrilled they had said something.

I was also surprised that anyone had noticed my weight loss at all, since I'm one of those lucky ladies who carries my extra weight "well" and I figured I'd have to drop at least 20 pounds before anyone saw a difference.

I walked around with a smile for a long time after that. I wanted to go shout "Someone noticed that I've lost weight!!! from the rooftop, but instead I posted here.
  • Haha suuuuper cool! Congrats.
  • Yay!
  • That is awesome!!! congrats!!!
  • KUDOS!! That is awesome. It is all that which makes a difference in motivation, isn't it? Great for you!
  • Congrats - that's one of the best feelings ever!
  • I have to chime in too Last night one of our neighbors was over that didn't know I had been working out trying to get in shape and lose weight. He says "have you lost weight?" I said yeah, I'm down about 16 lbs. He was like "really? wow, I can tell, you look good". That is so nice hearing!! Before I have only gotten comments from people who know how hard I have been working or when I say "hey I've lost 10 lbs." I get a comment like Oh i can tell. Its a nice compliment but somehow makes me feel like maybe they are just trying to be nice. Congrats to you and keep up the good work!!!
  • Thank you, ladies.

sheywood4: I know exactly what you mean about the insincere compliments, which is why I don't announce to anyone that I am dieting, or mention that I have lost any weight. That way, if people do notice and say something, the compliment feels much better to receive since I know it's genuine. And congrats to you, as well.

DeeNice2: The compliments will come, don't worry. I look forward to reading about it when you do!
