Getting started-again...

  • I am new to this website and just looking for strength. I have been overweight my whole life. I eventually had gastric bypass surgery in 2000. I went from 267 to 137. It took a while and being really unhealthy (mentally and physically) to get there. Then I met my husband. We got fat and happy together. I weighed 150 on my wedding day but was happy. We had a baby- I gained 35 pounds, then lost it a year later through diet and exercise. I had my next baby last May. I gained 35 pounds again, but gained as additional 25 on a new birth control. So now I'm 217 pounds and miserable. I don't want to be seen in public, I'm embarrassed that my family has to be seen with me. I started another diet/exercise program on Monday. I have lost 3 pounds to date. I'm trying to stay positive instead of putting myself down. I am also jogging 2.5 miles each day. I hope that I can keep up the momentum. I look forward to being here! 72 pounds to go!

  • MontanaGirl you could have wrote that story about me. I did have gastric bypass when I was with my future husband. Lost weight, felt great, then I got pregnant almost a year later. I went right back to my old eating habits. I didn't gain it all back but a good 60 lbs was gained back. Like they all said surgery was a tool, so I'm relearning how to eat again. It's not easy but I work on it everyday. Good luck to you, you can do it!
