Hi

  • Hi, my name is Alicia, I'm 44 and I am a mother of three. I never lost alll my weight with each pregnancy. I have been fighting Type II diabetes for several years and slowly putting on about 10 pounds a year. This year, after a run in with Lyme disease in July, have been failing in the fight. I hit bottom, last November, my weight was at 249 when I went in for my checkup. My doctor really scared me and told me that I was going to die young. After being depressed and crying a lot, I pulled myself together and said this has got to change because I want to see my kids grow up.

I immediately started a low carb diet and splurged and bought an exercise bike. I started out slow on my bike, but now I am up to 30 mins cardio a day and I joined the company gym and am alternating the bike with treadmill, elliptical jogger, and rowing machine. I have now lost 40 pounds but I have a lot more to go.

I am writing to this forum because I realize that i need someone to talk to about all this and I need to hear how other people are getting through this and perservering.

    Thanks

    Alicia
