dunkin donuts coffee - Help

  • ok, so, I'm addicted to coffee and my friend even more! she's making good choices and getting tea lately (BUT I HATE IT BLECK!) I usually have my coffee at home with splenda and powdered coffeemate which ends up being little miniscule points. BUT say I'm out and I didn't have my coffee and now I have a headache (it happens !) A friend that was on weight watchers years ago used to get skim milk and equal. I tried it and BLECK doesn't do it for me.

So to make a long story short (even though I just made you all read the long story) if I go to Dunkin Donuts and get a Medium Iced Coffee light with 3 splenda exactly like that.. does anyone know about how many points this would be??? Or approximately. I've been avoiding getting them but sometimes that on my shoulder is saying just get it! so i'd love to know how to fit it in! TIA!
  • and um don't know how that random devil guy got in there at the beginning. just ignore him.
  • oh! I didn't even think of looking up nutritional information. Light bulb haha. Yes I mean light in color not like SUPER light everyone always makes it different. Unfortunately I tried the skim milk route and its not for me. I could try whole milk instead of cream that's an idea. Thanks for replying
  • I'm not sure which of these categories "light" falls under (milk or skim, I guess), but here's what I came up with:

    Iced Coffee w/Cream 2
    Iced Coffee w/Milk 1
    Iced Coffee w/Skim Milk 0.5

Splenda's free so that won't add anything to it. Generally iced coffee is no different from regular coffee, it all depends on the kind of milk they add and if you put sugar in.
  • If it is flavored coffee, i think it is more. I remember counting McDonalds carmel iced coffee for very little points only to find out it was loaded. What I do is I use Far free creamer, I keep it in my car (I ususally pack a little lunch box so I keep it in there) and then I just order coffee and add my own so I know what I am getting.

Ooo... That is a REALLY good idea. Hmmm..

My mom gets powdered milk and uses that in her coffees - it doesn't have the really bad fats that some creamers do, and it does water down her coffees. I wonder how hard it would be to carry around powdered milk in my car?

  • splenda has some flavor packets for coffee, I'm interested in trying them, but like the cream in my coffee, has anybody tried them? When I make coffee at home if I feel like flavoring it a bit, I just put some ground cinnamon on top of the grounds, it's good.

March 21st is free iced coffee day at DD according to their website. I try and avoid those types of things, when I look them up the pts. values are scary.
  • I was at the grocery store last night looking up the Vanilla Lattes to Go by International Coffees - General Mills. They are 2 pts per to go packet if anyone is interested. But to get to what you're looking for, the iced coffees, they had those in to go packets also and they were 2 pts. So if you were really craving the iced coffee versions, there are options out there. Check out your local grocery store and keep the packets in your purse or tote for emergencies.

An occasional Dunkin Donuts iced coffee isn't going to hurt you. In fact, the WW program encourages you to enjoy the things you like, in moderation and count the points.

Personally, I like a good vanilla latte from Starbucks about once a month. I ask for a tall skinny sugar free vanilla latte. Comes with Sugar free vanilla flavor, skim milk (I personally haven't noticed a big flavor difference but I like the flavoring aspect) and it comes with no whip - 2 pts. Practice asking for what you want. It's all in the storyboarding aspect of WW. Best part of it for me is that it helps with my milk requirement for the day
  • Once a month? Sheesh, I go for skinny lattes once a week.

    So, ifindhope, how'd it go?
  • everybody had some super ideas and i think i'll shoot for getting the coffee on a day i have some extra points lying around and go for what i like. 4points isn't TOO bad. i haven't gotten one yet but thanks for all your replies! and i never ever thought of bringing my own creamer, such a great idea! i'll have to stick some in my car (for days i want hot coffee anyways, that darn powdered creamer doesn't do well in iced obv. HAHA)

    thanks again!
