  • Hi Kids,

Where is everyone ? Nothing new here, just gonna go make coffee and get the little snot nose out of the crib (she has a cold ). It looks crapy out so we'll just stay right at home today.

    Have a great day.

    Love Leens
  • Happy Saturday!

Not crappy here at all, Leens, in fact it is feeling springlike again. We even have patches of grass showing in the middle yard. The girls and I were out for about 20 minutes at 7 and, if it had not been for lack of coffee, I'd still be out there. I am trying to figure out a way to give them a fenced in play yard without screwing up the design of my gardens. Believe it or not, I am thinking of a pool for them - or a very large water dish. I also want to be able to just let them out a door and know they are safe. Thanks heavens we can't start this project until real spring so I will get it figured out.

Late yesterday afternoon, we lost our electricity! Everytime that happens I get the scared feeling I had during the 3 weeks outage in the Ice Storm of '98. By the time I had found the batteries, candles and propane cylinders, the power was back on. We can manage with candles and the woodstove but no water is the major problem when we have no power - all our wells are electric pumps.

Have to make a big pot of meatball soup this morning - as a Parish fund raiser, we are feeding the annual meeting of the Dairy Farmers at noon on Monday. Everything has to be ready by 7 tomorrow night for setup - these folks start their meetings early! Soup, sandwiches and homemade pies are on the menu. I will not have to work it on Monday noon but will be off in Kingston having a classy lunch with my sister Joan - a late birthday lunch.
Big on the road week coming up - Gananoque Tuesday and Smiths Falls and Ottawa on Wednesday.

The Library opens in 25 minutes so I'd better get going. Have a great Saturday.
  • Well I have had some uppers and some downers over the past few weeks, but it is time to get back down to business. I am working 12 hour days this weekend and am off to work in the next few moments...just wanted to say happy saturday and have a good weekend...hope all is well...Liz

Morning Ruth, morning Leens...I know just how your daughter is feeling!
  • Happy Saturday! The coffee is SO good this morning. We are getting ready to head out and take dd horseback riding. Oooh, which reminds me that I need to find my camera ---

Finally found out we are moving east the middle of May. We've been waiting to hear about a school that dh has to attend, but I think we are getting very excited. Although, I have to admit, I am really looking for some stability -- I've moved 5 times in 5 years and I'm a little tired.

I hope you all have a great day! I'm going to go get the pork ready to roast -- might just use Chickadees idea for "chicken roasting"

    Later ladies!
  • The sun is peaking through the clouds and it's pretty warm- nice for a February Saturday!

Got some chores done, and heading out for the dry cleaners and bank.

    back later,
    dottie
  • Good Morning you busy chicks!

Cleaned out soem kitchen cabinets and reorganized things so it all fits. Have to bring out my scrubbing arm to get the glue off the wall where the wallpaper was and then it's paint central. Taking a break right now. Laundry is ont he go--dh is asleep on the couch and Miree is asleep in her bed. Just that precious moment of calmbefore the storm! LOL

    Have a great one ladies!
  • Hello everyone!
We just got h8me from shopping and DH is off to the dump with his trusted pal Goldie the doggie! i have a minute so I thought I'd stop and say hello.

I know that I've been rather quiet lately and it's cause I've had a lot on my mind. DH and I have been having long discussions about our futures-either together or apart. Also, we've made some decisions about our home and where it is going to be. This isn't saying we're separating or anything, but we are talking a lot.

Also, as very few people know, I have a 38-year-old son who is an alcoholic and smokes pot. He is married to a woman who is very needy and is an enabler. All of my sons troubles are based on my faults as a mother when he was young. Isn't this sick? Throw into the mess two great little girls who are going to grow up all messed up! All I can do is stand by and watch these two morons for parents make a mess of their lives. Oy vey, it is enough to make me want to hide under a quilt for a few years. As a mother I've made it very clear to my son that I am more than willing to discuss the past, but, I think that he is playing games with his wifes mind (which isn't difficult!).

Pray for the two little girls as they are worth gold compared to those two worthless parents.
  • Tippy....you are not having a good time. Remember we all make choices in life and it sounds as if your son and daughter in law have made theirs, unfortunately it is the little ones that suffer! And so the cycle continues...I am thinking of you and praying for your family....I often look at my children and hope I am doing the best for them and they are well adjusted and happy....DH and I have our problems but they are small ones usually....I find myself wondering about the past too much I think.....I hope it works out for you...
  • Tippy, you need a hug! Here's one just for you!
