Hiya, name's Tracy. Uhm, not too sure where to start...I guess from the beginning's always good, eh?
I've struggled with weight since I was in my early teens. My mother became concerned with my diet when I was 12 years old, and took efforts to help me with staying healthy and what not. Needless to say, the primary focus was on dieting. So, yeah, negative connoations with that word.
Ever since I was 12, I've steadily gained weight. I hit 270 pounds at one point, and I'm a pretty short person, so it was pretty bad. I've managed to lose about ten, but I'm having **** of a time getting more off, due to bad eating habits and not an active lifestyle, PLUS going to college AND being broke all at once. Ouch!
I've tried Weight Watchers, it wasn't really for me because I had issues with meeting as a group. (I'm deaf, so I don't do well with groups). I've tried the Atkins diet...wasn't really good for me, either. I've tried some fad diets (from my mother), and of course, it didn't work out. I"m currently on the L.A. Weight loss system, they have a center near my school. So, hopefully that'll work out since it's more 1-on-1 for me.
Other than that...uh, I'm not too sure what else to say. Are there any other deaf dieters out there that's a member of the forum?

this is a great place, Good luck!
I was planning on posting there earlier, but it was nearly time for class and I had to shut down the laptop! =) I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with my endeavors this time around. =)
I hope that works out for you!!!! Let us all know how it's working out for you.
