Hello, all! New here!

  • I've just joined, and am very motivated to get started! My husband and I are losing weight together (we gained much of it after getting married ). So far, we've been portioning, exchanging food for their healthier counterparts, and have lost 3 lbs each in the past 3 weeks. Now I definitely want to step things up, and hope to do it with 3FC's help!

    My current weight: 232 / DH's current weight: 317

Because DH is diabetic, I'm considering doing South Beach or another Low Carb... but am still researching and trying to figure out the best options for us. I'm glad to be here!
  • Hey and welcome to the site!!
There's several list of different diets on the forum homepage if your confused on which one you and your husband want to do.

Ohh and good luck with everything. It's going to be hard but just take it one day at a time!!
  • Thanks for the welcome, breathe me! I've been reading through the different diets, and am astounded by the amount of info available here. I'm definitely looking to make a lifestyle change once and for all.

  • I'd highly recommend Sugar Busters for you and your husband, especially because he is diabetic. It works by choosing foods that have lower sugars in them. You stay away from white processed breads, pastries, sugar laced foods, even regular potatoes and replace them with high fiber, cracked wheat breads, sweet potatoes, lean meats fruits and veggies. You can use olive oil and butter to cook your food. I have been on it since December 31,2007 and have gone from 216 to 189. Good luck to you both!
  • Hi! Welcome to the forum.
  • Wow, thanks for all the warm welcomes! Reading them is a great way to start my Monday morning.

jillnicole, I agree- what I LOVE about this so far is the "real people" factor!

SusanB - ooh, thanks for the direct links! Very helpful.

chris313 - Sugar Busters sounds great. Should I go get the book already?
