On "the View" yesterday they showed her measurements all over then had her step on a scale. They will show her weight again in 4 weeks.

I'm sorry, there is no way she weighs 173, they had to have adjusted the scale before the show so that it didn't show her actual weight?
Don't you think she is 200lbs or a little over 200?

What makes you think they would do that and that she is 27+ heavier than the scale shows?

TV hides ones height, which could be why you thought she weighed more?

I think she looks like she could weight that much, thinking in relation to myself and say,my mother. I would be surprised if she was above 200.

Maybe she is quite short and therefore looks heavy for that weight.

Since there are many factors that influence weight, and since we aren't that person, in general 3FC stays away from commenting on the truth or falsehood of celebrities' weights....There is a sticky in the general chatter forum that explains this.

Maybe I haven't seen her that much lately (my image of her is based pretty much on The Color Purple: my mom sees The View way more often than I get a chance to) and she may have bulked-up in the interim, but I never had the impression that Whoopi was fat? Of course when you're looking from the p.o.v. of 265, 173 looks damn good. Am I missing something?

I guess at first glance I was interpreting it as "Whoopi LOSES 173 #", not "she WEIGHS that much"
