poem...If I let go

  • First, would someone Please let me know if this isn't an appropriate place to share this kind of thing.

Now, in this Wacky Girl's tradition , I like to express myself in many ways. I love painting and drawing, music AND poetry! Whether these things I create are good or bad is a matter of opinion and I KNOW that they aren't THAT good, but I will make them in hopes of helping myself understand how I feel.

I wrote this poem about my surgery being so close at hand...holding on to the last bit of fear, letting it go and landing on a soft place in my new life on the otherside of Monday! I wanted to share and hope you enjoy it.

AND I promise there are is no mention of thongs, leather or otherwise! LOL This one is more of the...I don't know...soul searching variety.

    "If I let go"

    Hanging by the thinnest thread
    Fear to fall into dark
    Feeling the strip of fabric
Slip through a tightly held grip
    ....deciding to see
    ...........what would happen
    ................If I let go

    Tightly closed eyes, heart pounding
    Loud, audible echoes pulse
    Into a seemingly endless drop
    ....wanting to see
    ...........what would happen
    ................if I let go

    Shout "Woohoo" while releasing fingers
    Life surging through excited veins
    Landing in a surprising place
    ....when I let go,
    .........a new beginning
...............life, love, friendship, a soft cushion
  • great poem! loved the 'soft cushion' ending! thank you.
  • Wonderful!! I also wrote a poem on Tuesday night at work. We were not busy and I had some free time. It's also about my surgery.
