Getting Started (or restarted) Challenge

  • *I've seen a couple of posts around here of people who are struggling to get started or get back on the horse. I was thinking that to have a small reasonable goal I would pledge to stick to my plan (reguardless of results) for the next 2 weeks (starting 2/1 and lasting until 2/14).

you can post what your plan is, what you plan to do and how your going to do it for the next 2 weeks. Then be very honest about your progress and we can congradulate each other on getting started when it is over.

I have been starting my diet for the last 2 weeks (I think I may have gained weight). I can't seem to put together a string of successful days. Then when I finally got serious a few days ago, I got my TOM the next day. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep and ended up eating more than my daily calorie allowance at night. Because I didn't sleep, I overslept the next morning, didn't eat breakfast and had a bagel/capacchino (sp?) on campus. Now that TOM is winding down I'm ready to get started. My goal is to be perfect for the next 2 weeks (reguardless of the results). I will religiously log my calories in the daily plate and stay under 1,600 for the next 2 weeks.
  • So I just started counting calories this week and whoa! I can't believe how well it's working for me. It's so easy to stick to thanks to the internet haha! yesterday I started the weights program I'm doing. yesterday was the upper body. Today's lower body. I'm aiming for 6 days a week with a rest day on mondays. This week and next week I'm just focusing on the weights so I can get a hang of the program and learn the routines. once I get better at it, I want to get cardio in as well.

My goal for 2 weeks is to be able to comfortably fit in my pants. I haven't weighed myself since thanksgiving but I know and can tell in my pants that i've gained weight! So, i want to get those pants to fit and then in 4 weeks get my other size 14 pants to fit because those aren't as stretched out.

So next 2 weeks: 1500 calories, weight workout 6 days a week, and fit into pants.

Catherine, sorry to hear about your problems getting going! I know how horribly hard it is, but now that TOM is gone, hopefully you can get a great start so the next one won't be so hard! Good luck!
