Did you all hear that we're getting 600$ back from the government as a refund? Apparently it's an economic stimulus and each tax payer/wage earner will receive 600$, and 300 additional dollar for each child. Has anyone else heard of this? Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas for spending the money?

I will believe it when I have the check in hand Will probably be spent on something for the house though.

My thoughts and opinions are political, so I'll keep those to myself. I wont be doing anything special with mine... just in the bank for a rainy day.

If we get it, I'll be hiring a personal trainer for a couple of sessions for DH and me. He finally admitted the reason he won't go with me to work out is that he doesn't know what he's doing.

My hubby mentioned this the other day. I'll believe it when I see it! It was funny how it was brought up, I was in the middle of a heated argument with our best friend's hubby about politics. I hadn't yet heard about the refund, but it just pushed the point I was making to him farther my way! It was a good debate!
If we do get it, it's either going towards a new computer or a new bed! We were planning on doing both this year anyway

I'm currently starting some home remodeling projects. Ours will be spent on our house, if we get one.

DH and I just signed up for a gym membership. I'll consider that my "economic stimulus" for the year and put the check towards paying some bills. Also keeping political commentary to myself!

House payments...we bought a new house and haven't put our old house on the market yet (because what's the point?)!

Save it for paying bills when the next layoffs happen due to the recession we are in (or are heading towards)

I would love to spend it on a vacation or new carpeting, but will probably just use it to pay off bills.

It's going into the "Spring Fling" fund.

Every April, we have a big crawfish boil at my family's lake cabin. It's good times, usually has about 50-70 people show up to have some crawfish, ribs, etc. Myself and several other friends play in bands and we'll set up so someone's pretty much playing all weekend. Some people stay inside, but most bring tents and just have a good time.

Anywho, I'm sure it's going into the food/booze/gas money to pick up people at the airport fund.

We will probably buy a new flat screen T.V. and bank the rest as it was said before for a rainy day.

I'd like to buy a wii and some accessories. The rest is going in the bank!
