Maybe this will help...

  • I remember someone sharing this here on 3fc last year and after reading some of the new threads about body image after weight loss, stretch marks, loose skin and such; I remember seeing this and it really bought me back down to the reality of why i'm doing this whole thing. I know, it's hard to not let vanity take over in the middle of the journey, but it's important to remember it's so much more than looks. So here goes: btw, go to the fifth page of her gallery and look at the stock419 photo, that's where she said she lost 100 lbs.

I hope she doesn't mind that I am linking this here. But I found this girl's gallery of stock photos the other day. if you go to the browse gallery on the left, there are a trillion pictures of her. And i think on the fifth page or so shes actually in a bikini, and the pictures are completely unedited.

She says somewhere that she has lost over a hundred plus pounds. So of course, i found looking at her pictures extremely intriguing. Curious, of course. I know we are all struggling with body image issues. And worried about the end result of course.

and in 90 percent of them, she looks hot!! ---clothed and unclothed. She puts herself out there. I know we will all look different, our problems at the end will all be different. But its nice to see it out there, and flaunted. I hope I can feel that way at some point. (even though you can tell by her descriptions, shes still dealing with alot of image issues). Where I can own my loose skin and scars, and stop hating my body.

I also liked reading the comments that people left after her pictures, telling her how wonderful and so how not plastic they think she looks.

I figure everybody's gotta love a good before and after. even its just an after.

Okay, enough of that for today.

Hope everybody has a great week.
  • She looks FANTASTIC, scars or not. Thanks for posting that link again.
  • I remember that! This (to steal an Oprah phrase) was an "A-HA!" moment for me. Hopefully it will be for others. Thanks for posting! I'm glad she still has it up.
  • this is inspiring, thanks for sharing!
  • Cool, nice to see photos of a real person! My image of what women should look like in bikinis has been completely warped by the use of photoshop and I rarely see women in bikinis anyways, so this was refreshing. Thanks for posting!
  • Junebug it was an AH-HA moment for me too! I think she's absolutely beautiful and I admire her for accomplishing her goal and actually posting photos of herself. It reminds me of Tyra Banks "So What!" campaign, so what if she has stretch marks, she's still beautiful, so therefore so WHAT if I have them, they don't make me flawed.
