Can you eat regular food?

  • Should have put this with my previous post. Sorry! I'm all for eating less. I understand the importance of moderation. However, I'm NOT an oatmeal or yogurt girl. After surgery, can I eventually eat regular food (in small amounts)?

Also, is there a place to get more info as to what a diet after surgery is like?

    Thanks
  • Every doc recommends a different diet. . .define regular food. if you mean Bread and Pasta thats a flaming No not directly at least preferably not at all but we all have our weaknesses.
Also Everyone is different so some people can eat things others can't what surg are you considering have you spoken to a doc or gone to a seminar?
    Let us know!!

  • kier's right - and i'd like to add that the first 3 months are very very limited, and restrictions ease up after that. at about 18 months [or so - everyone's different!] you should be eating pretty darn close to what everyone else can eat. but you will always and forever have to be careful about what goes into your mouth, and the amounts that go into your mouth as well.

but, most of us have ALWAYS lived that way anyway, to one extent or another. but at least this way, we now have a fighting chance!
