dessert that are low carb

  • I follow a low-carb/WW approach. I eat less than 50 gms carb a day including vege and other high fiber carbs. Sometimes I die for a sweet treat!
I found the book Unbelievable Desserts with Splenda has been , well unbelievable in satisfying my sweet tooth.
The desserts are all low fat and low cal - under 200 cal for big servings and reduced carb. The coffee drinks are great for under 10 carbs as is the pumpkin custard and the lemon mousse.
When I "splurge" I go up to 15 carbs on my treats (regular desserts are like 60 and up) and I have made the cheesecake (15 carbs and no sugar) and 2 of the coffecakes (= 1 bread per serving) and they were GREAT. You would think you were cheating big time. The author does use some sugar occassionally but where I used to use cups to get real desserts for my splurges she uses a couple tablespoons with the splenda ( the no-cal sweetener) and the stuff tastes just like the super high carb stuff - not the low carb diet tasting stuff. Definitely worth getting.
You can get the cheesecake recipe at:
