Need a quick start

  • Howdy! I am new and have never tried losing weight this way. Hopefully the support is what will help me succeed this time. I started Jan. 2 to lose 45 lbs. Have bounced around since. (meaning I have only lost 2 lbs.) My incentive is a picture I took of myself in my undies. OMG!!! I carry it with me, maybe I need to pin it on myself so I am constantly looking at it. I don't exercise and find it hard to make time. I sit at a desk most of the day so no activity there. If anyone has any ideas about a quick start to losing weight I would appreciate it. I am 48 years old and feel 70.
  • 155HEREICOME ~ you will find lots of support and ideas here. I think Weight Watchers has a quick start plan, and there are some groups here that you could join; we also have a 40-Something thread as well. Walking is probably the best exercise to start with becuz it's free and easy as long as you have no health problems. Look around and just jump in wherever you like; and come back often becuz that really helps too ...

  • Welcome!!
As for a quick start I think if you try something like Dr. Bernstein or Dr. Poon's diet they are good to really get you losing at thebeginning. I mena they are probably good to keep you losing just not easy to stick to long term. I'm basically doing a modified version of them, kind of my own thing and I have lost about 9lbs this week. I'm sure alot is water weight though!
