sick of making excuses

  • hello all well i'm 27 and a grad student . i always start diets and after loosing a couple i go back to my old eating habits. but hey my high school reunion is next year so i have an extra motivation this time besides the most important one that is i don't want to be tired by doing the most simple tasks and i almost always want to strangle my family members for making the most rude comments. i think having a sister that weights less than a 110 lbs at 26 yrs old and always have been the thin and pretty one has affected my view of what i have to become. but i have realized that i' me and that my body is not the same as hers i will work with what i have and learning to love myself more everyday.
  • Hey Adalis!

Gosh, it took me a REALLY long time to accept that "My sister and I are not the same person, and it is ok if we are different" message - I'm glad you're getting it. Comparison just makes everyone upset and doesn't help a thing.

I'm glad you've found us. What sort of plan are you going to follow? Most likely, we have a forum for it, so look around and keep posting. You might want to check out the 100 Lb Club forum and the 20-Somethings area, to start.

Can't wait to get to know you!

One of the best pieces of information you'll find here is to get out of that 'diet' mindset.. A 'diet' is a temporary thing, and so the weight comes back.. You have to make a change for life, and so once you get it off, you keep it off forever.
Good luck with your weight loss!!
