February and we are in a winter wonderland after a strange January. We got a dig dump of snow and freezing rain is coming down as I write. This will definitely be another stay at home day! The snow is crusted which is OK for Hershey who breaks through out there but little Lucy just gave up because she partially breaks through. Poor little pup! She has decided it will be a use the nice warm newspaper day!
Did a salmon and bok choy recipe last night - quite Oriental. I will post it later in the recipe section. My only NY resolution was to try one new recipe per week. That didn't happen when I was sick
so I am catching up now. Did an old-fashioned beef stew recipe that works in the crockpot and will do Chicken Osso Buco today.
Supposed to be sunny tomorrow so Hershey and I will resume our nursing home visits in the morning. She has been "on maternity leave" since summer and has also been trying to get her coat looking presentable. One of the rules for therapy dogs is that they must look good. Her tail is still ratty but she can just sit on that.
Sunday is my grand daughter Tayler's second birthday so we will drive into Ottawa in the morning. It will be so great to see her again. She talks very clearly and has added God Bless Hershey and Lucy to her bedtime prayers. Her parents are going on a well deserved Barbados holiday in early March so her other Granny and I will have Tayler. Other Granny has a crib and stuff but Tayler will be visiting here some days. It's only half an hour away - not the hour and a half to Ottawa.
I understand there is a game of some sorts Sunday evening? DH is already pushing for a pizza and wine supper in front of the TV. I may suggest he ask in some of his sporty pals and then I can just go and read.
I hope everyone has a great TGIF, Stay safe and warm.

) and coleslaw for munchies. BTW -- wine w/pizza? That's a new one on me!
