Hi, I was really interested in doing the nutri system for me and my husband until I got online and checked out the price ...I am finding it to be 297.00 with shipping for each person...is this right? It seems like a crazy amount for just one months worth of food...that is normally what I spend for me and my husband for one months worth of groceries...so if he and I both did it we are talking about 600 per month???
I am just asking because I know some of you on here do Nutri system and wondered if you could shed some light on the pricing for me...is this correct?
Thanks for any help.

Nutrisystem-Get out your wallet
Hi there--I'm a newbie here but have started NutriSystem so I thought I'd jump in.
Yes, it's VERY expensive. It runs about $10 per day per person, so it would be about $600/month for you and your husband. PLUS, you supplement the NS food with fresh fruits and veggies and dairy, which I find adds about $25 a week to my total.
I'm single so it's easier to do for one. But it's expensive and while I like the program so far (only a week) I don't know how long I'll be able to afford it.
Best of luck!
It was way too expensive for me. I tried to cancel, but they wouldn't let me. I had to reschedule the delievery time yet again, so I'm pretty steamed about that. But I hated Nutrisystem. I was doing everything right..and I fainted 3 times. Not good at all!! I do love the walking dvd that came with the package though. I plan on still using it!!
Good luck!!
shopaholic, what do you mean they wouldn't let you cancel? I have never heard of that happening. You just call and cancel, or dispute with your credit card company.
With NS - depending upon how you order it, the $297 is the base price. If you set yourself up on autodelivery, you get free shipping and 10% off that price. Then after 3 deliveries, you get 15% off. You can space out the autodeliveries however you want - as long as 8 weeks in between orders.
You can also earn $30 coupons if you refer someone to NS and they place an order. There is also a 'daily dose' coupon, where NS has a motivational message posted every day. You click on that page and after 50 days, you get a $10 coupon.
The last 2 months I only paid $200 for my food, so the discounts can add up.
It's totally up to you. You pay not just for food, but for convenience and you get access to dieticians and nutritionists.
You could also check out ebay. There are a lot of people who sell food on ebay. Try it and see how you like it.
I tried to cancel, and they asked why..and I told them that I couldnt afford it. So they said that I could reschedule for a later time to see if I could afford it later on, and they said that most people end up doing that.
Nutrasystem cost
you might want to try it on QVC.com.. they have the program MUCH cheaper.. I am paying with shipping 185.00 a month on auto delivery with the weekends off program so I get 20 days of everything I need , this was MUCH less then I spend on food a month..
Plus the program I am on is geared towards your sex and age range...

I just told them it upsets my stomach and they stopped shipments with no problem. Or you can always give a medical excuse.
I ordered the 2 weeks of food (not auto program) for my husband and I to try for 1 week over the summer. It wasn't just the cost of the food -- there was also the cost of all of the "extras" you need to buy like salads and triscuits and string cheese and stuff like that.
I know people have lost a ton of weight on it, but we personally did not care for the food. Before you commit to buying it, check on eBay for a few of the food items. Pick up a couple of lunches and dinners and see if they suit your tastes. We found the items to be pretty bland and some of them were inedible... like the ones that were lunches and need to be reconstituted with water and microwaved. One that I think was mashed potatoes comes to mind.
What it did show me was that if I wanted to I could probably recreate their diet with a granola bar and 2 frozen meals from the grocery store. (In addition to the veggies and stuff.)
I even have some foods left... maybe I should put them on eBay too!
