Hi!!! I'm a bookworm...and I'm in LOVE with chick lit! I really like books that have weight loss/struggle as subject matter but it's not easy to come by.
Some of the best ones I've read are:
Last Chance Saloon by Marian Keyes
Jemima J by Jane Green
I didn't like Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner.
ANyway, does anyone have any recommendations for chick lit? I've read ALL of Marian Keyes's books and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever find anything that can compare.
THanks for your help!!! Happy Reading!!!
I wouldn't call it "chick lit", exactly, but Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. Even if some of her more recent books are a little formulaic, they are very well-written and they always hold my interest!
Some great chick lit books involving weight issues have been
Conversations with the Fat Girl by Liza Palmer
The Next Big Thing by Johanna Edwards
Inappropriate Men by Stacy Ballis
Fat Girl by Judith Moore ( Not chick lit, but a good read, it is a memoir of growing up fat. )
How about Alternate Beauty by Andrea Rains Weggener? I read that about a year ago, and while for my taste it didn't run enough with the theme of an alternate reality where fat is sexy, you might like it if you like chick lit
I remember thinking that "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb was one of the best chick lit novels I've read - and the central character deals with a weight struggle in a very realistic way.
I loved She's Come Undone, it's extremely well-written, although it is not really "light" at all, and is quite depressing throughout, IMO.
Its not really chick lit (which I happen to love), but I really loved The Memory Keepers Daughter.
I luuuurve Chick Lit!!! I read everything that's published by Little Black Dress. I also really love Cecilia Ahern's stuff. She wrote P.S. I Love You.
