New to the neighborhood

  • Hi everyone;

    I am literally new to the neighborhood. I just moved to AR from IN five weeks ago. My husband's job moved us. I do not know anyone here and now that the Holidays are over, I am finding myself lonely without all the holiday rush to keep me busy. I also just turned 50 on New Year's Eve, that one I am still adjusting to. I need to get back to my healthy eating and exercise which I use to be pretty good at, but since we have been in limbo for about 8-10 months over the transfer I have just stopped everything except eating. I miss my family back in IN and I tend to be an emotional eater. I have battled weight all of my life. I have weighed 250+ and had gotten to 138 at one time,(which was probably too low for me) I seem to be comfortable around the 170 mark, but with the stress I have let myself get back to 200 and need help and encouragement from someone to help be get back on track. I know I can do it, I just need that nudge. Thanks for listening

    By the way
  • hi, you came to the right place to get support! We have a 50+ thread and would love to see you there. It's called Golden Girls and they are great people and very supportive. Hope to see you there.
  • Hi!

    Happy birthday and welcome! I'm pretty new to this site, myself, but have found it to be a very warm and encouraging group! I hope you find a lot of support here!
  • Hello and welcome, kd50!

    So you just turned 50... well... errr, I can't relate, BUT I can say that I know age is merely a number. I have a friend of mine who also just turned 50 but does not look a day over 35. Infact, we have several members who have hit the big 5-0 - enough to start an entire support group, located here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=217

    One of our moderators, Meg, is in her 50's and looks amazing... check this out: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84333

    What I'm trying to say is... you can look amazing at any age... and I know you can get down to the size you want
