Need ideas for my training program

  • I have been given a fairly good program for the gym, including core exercises and weights. The problem is, I'm getting pretty bored of it. And there are a few exercises which I just don't like doing.. I'd like to share my program with you and then ask all of you, what is your gym training like? Do take into mind that I do interval training, and lots of ball work and using my own body weight and most importantly, doing upper and lower body at the same time..

    It looks like this:

    1st Circuit
    Step Ups
    Front Raises
    Abs elbow knee
    RUN
    Ball Squats/Bicep Curl
    Stability 1 Leg out
    Kicks
    RUN
    Bosu push up
    Overhead tri
    Sumo Squats
    RUN
    2nd Circuit
    Dead Life
    Superman abs
    Flutter kicks
    RUN
    Squat curl press
    Abs Ball
    Planks/Sides
    RUN
    Ball Heel grabs
    Ball Bridge
    Crunch with ball between legs

Need some new ones!! But this is great, Im in and out of the gym in about 45 minutes and I am workin' it the whole time!
  • Tried doing some resistance band exercises?
    Lateral pull, leg squat etc...
  • Which ones do you not like? In my experience the ones I dislike the most are the ones that are the hardest & I need the most - hahaha!
  • You're right, you definitely need to change your program if you've been using it more than 4 - 6 weeks or so. Otherwise your body will adapt to the exercises and you won't continue to progress.

Since you like the basic format of your program, why not keep the overall structure and just swap out exercises? Pick new ones that work the same muscle groups and plug them in to replace the old ones. For example, if you're doing step-ups, substitute lunges. If you're doing triceps extensions, substitute kickbacks. For front raises, substitute lateral raises and so forth. Keep changing and swapping to keep your program fresh.
  • Wow - how do you do all that in 45 minutes!!!??
  • Thats so true!! Although yes there are some that I don't like at all because they are hard, I will do them.. Its mostly just that they work only one muscle at a time and I want to work more than one throughout.. And I feel some don't get my heart rate up as well as others and I'm trying to max my time in the gym.. Im also looking to incorporate more sports moves as well..
