What Celebrity Would You go Watch???

  • Here in Vancouver we have film production crews all over the place. Our campus is used all the time and unless I get out and look I never know what is happening. Today is one of those days -- I went out and the whole back lot of our campus is full of production trailers and tents for a film crew. A few months ago we had Penelope Cruz and Sir Ben Kingsley here filming. Today's crew is basically unknown to me.

I was discussing this with another friend and she was hoping it would be a certain star and she said she would be over in a heart beat to stalk the set LOL. For the life of me I can't figure out if there is any star I would get up and go out to see if I could catch a glimpse. Back in the 90's Tom Selleck was here filming -- I never got a chance to see him -- even though we stood outside the building hoping to catch a glimpse LOL. His assistant did take our names and a few weeks later I got an 8 x 10 signed picture -- I bring it out when I want to fool people.

I might think of someone later but right now like I said earlier I am drawing a blank. Am I just too old and jaded now? Who would you make an effort to watch??? I know a totally fluffy question but what the heck. Its quiet here at work and aside from all the work I have to do before tomorrow I am bored.
  • Even though I'm far too old for such frivolity, I'm deceptively immature, so...

Actors: George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom
    Musicians: Bruce Springsteen
  • Ditto with Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Bruce Springsteen (George Clooney would be nice, too, just not my first choice). But I would add a my first choice Jon Bon Jovi...!
  • Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Tim Curry and Clint Eastwood
  • I love Johnny but honestly, I don't think I'd take the effort to go visit a set.

I went to college in LA and my schools were often used as sets for movies and TV shows. I thought it was a bit of an annoyance than anything but some people liked watching them filming.
  • I run into celebrities here from time to time. I really feel sorry for them when they're trying to just go out and either have a good time or get some things done (like shopping). I always ignore them (okay, I steal a peek, I confess) but I'm sure they don't really want someone bugging them for a photo, autograph, etc. when they're out in public and not doing some publicity thing. We have "sightings" all over town because we're a resort near Hollywood (and a lot live here, too). I just give them their space.

We've had some movies and TV shows shot here, and they do draw crowds. I don't like crowds, so I stay away. I guess I'm just weird that way!!! LOL
  • Honestly, no one. And I really don't think I would recoginize a star if I saw one. I would just think that it was a person who looked like them, lol.

Wayne Gretzky (sp?) was here to look over a plane he was going to buy and a couple other people too. Harrison Ford was here a couple of times and people went crazy and Kirstie Alley is here a lot too. I was actually contemplating going to her Christmas village she has at her house here...she was going to be there for the first day of it. But it snowed and no one will or can get me out in this cold.

Last year my DH (then fiancee), the kids and I went to a resturaunt called 'Bruno's' in Banff. We sat right next to the two head stars from the television show Davinci's Inquest (a Canadian show...)

Todd kept saying "ask him if it's him... ask him... ask him for an autograph...".

I told him to leave them the heck alone, and that they were in the back secluded area of the restraunt for a reason (the resturaunt was packed and there were only two tables in the back quiet area... ours and theirs).

They talked with us and the kids and enjoyed a nice dinner - and they seemed kind of relieved that we didn't act like crazed fans. It was a nice lunch.
