Good things I did for myself in 2001

  • Howdy Howdy all,

It's so easy to feel guilty about what we didn't do, or did too much of. So let's toot our own horns and feel good about those positive actions:
  • Howdy Howdy all!!

Here's some positive things I did for myself this past year:

    1) Began using a wonderful chiropractor for an overall health program -NOT a trauma only quick fix. This has greatly increased my flexibility, stamina, and immunity levels. Haven't had a cold all winter!

    2) started flossing. not everyday, but a start. The dental hygienist has already noticed a difference.

3)The mirror's catching up with me. so I bought a hat and sunscreen for outdoors. And moisturizers for every body part.

    4)Tried to take compliments gracefully

5)Kept attending Weight Watchers even though this has been a really sucky year, weight wise.

6)Began a strength training program ala Miriam Nelson's Strong Women books. We'll see how that goes...And I do floor exercises prescribed by the above chiropractor.

7)I take better care of my nails andit's nice to look down and see nicely polished fingertips.

What did you do in 2001?
  • This is a lovely idea for a thread. Thank you for starting it!!

    1) Upgraded my moisturizer. I'd been using a product which was discontinued (so I've been buying it at premium prices) and, frankly, it was also one which was designed for the younger skin I had when I started using it. So I've upgraded to something that's intended for use with my new, more mature skin. The sales lady said something about, "Fine lines and wrinkles ... not that you have any ... yet!"

    2) Began wearing shoes that were both flattering and comfortable instead of merely comfortable. It means that while I do still enjoy my Birks and Borns, I've moved into wearing more professional and polished styles, like heeled square toe loafers from Nine West, and mid-calf boots and so one. Different shoes for different looks -- what a concept!

    3) Praying together as a family. I've always considered myself spirtual, however my prayer has always been a deeply private affair. This year we began saying grace each night before dinner. Its been an experience which has truly helped us to come together more as a family. Amen!

    4) Exercising regularly. 'Nuff said.

    5) Learning more about the world history. My mother has always been a history buff; he biggest complaint about my education was that we never did learn enough history. This year I decided to change that. I've been reading all manner of histories -- primarily with regard to England from the 1330s to the 1750s. Fascinating!

I'm sure there's more but these are a sampling of those things I've done, body and spirit, to improve my life this past year.
  • 2001 was a hard year for me, I went through alot of personal changes, but thsoe changes was what made me stronger. I did alot of little things for myself, but I suppose the main ones were:

    1) I started WW, best decission ever!

    2) I went back to school to futher myself.

    3) I decided what I want to do with the rest of my life, and that is to be an RN, so I got me a job in the Health Care field.
