another newbie

  • Here's a little about me...Im a 23 yr old military wife and mother of a 18 month old baby girl. I was once as motivated as the day is long, but since the birth of my daughter seem to be lacking in the department of sticking to anything. I have fought with my weight all my life but kept it under control for the most part. Well, somewhere along the line I lost that aspect of myself and dont know what to do anymore to get myself commited. Then, to my surprise i came across this site. I am hoping to meet a "diet buddy" to help me get to where i long to be (according to my book a diet buddy is the way to go). I am not usually the type of person that asks for help, but i can't get it together. I want to have my body back more than anything in the world, yet can't seem to get my butt in gear! Apparently i am conditioned to being lazy and worrying about everyone else and I leave myself sitting on the back burner. I need to lose 45 lbs...I recently bought the "YOU on a diet" book and am looking forward to starting the program. Hopefully i find someone who is doing this diet and can be my rock. I have started and stopped too many times to count..lost 15 lbs then gained it back..blah blah the vicious cycle continues. I am at that point where I think its now or never. Im either going to do it or just give up and be fat forever...(no i dont really want that thats why im here ). Looking forward to meeting you.
  • There's a "You on a diet" section with other Oprah inspired diets that you may want to check out. There's also a 20-somethings section that may appeal to you. Just remember that in order to make this last forever, you have to work at it forever. You CAN do this! Best of luck ^^
  • Hi welcome! I haven't heard of that diet. I find when I have trouble getting motivated I make a list of all the reasons I want to loose weight, but there is a condition. You can't write anything in the negative. Like you would write I want to feel confident in a bikini not I don't want to feel gross in a bathing suit. Then keep the list somewhere you can see it all the time, like on your computer monitor, bathroom mirror, fridge whatever.
