Jenniewookie! way to go getting that treadmill out!!! I may get there yet on the exercise front!

Been up since about 4:30 this morning! uhg!

Need to do quite a bit of fly lady today since I have buckled under the pressure and will have Jiff and Mom and the crafty ladies over for breakfast tomorrow. They don't care about how my house looks but one of them is a "Super Mom" VERY organized...she even has a card catalogue of the contents of the numbered boxes in her attic! Four wonderful kids, nice house, huge garden, peacocks, rabbits, dogs, cats and a goat named Billy...how can you not like some one who names their goat Billy? She is a peach and a great friend!

Jiff had her pre-op appointment yesterday and by golly that girl has lost 91 pounds since her ordeal this summer...yeah!!! Since she is coming over tomorrow do you think it would be ok to post a "wishing you well" type of thread? Since she has been living with Mom, she does not get on the computer much but she would see it when she comes over tomorrow! What do you think?

    peach
    ps...I think I lost a pound! yippeee!
  • Morning all,
Peach, I was up early too! I hate that, I will feel crummy all day. It could have something to do with the pasta I had for dinner last night- left me hungry at 2 AM, and groggy this morning! When will I learn?

Well, it's Thursday, at least the end is in sight. My accreditation survey is scheduled for Monday- the surveyors will be in the hospital for the whole week next week, but my areas will be audited thouroghly(sp?) on Monday. I found out about a second site visit from another certifying agency is scheduled for early March, screwing up my vacation plans! So Ruth and Peach, don't pack just yet~ We're going, I just don't know when yet!

Eileen, how was your first reunion with Grace? I'll bet you just loved the heck out of that little girl last night!

How is everyone else? Keep well, and drink water!

    dottie

hey peach, congrats on that pound! I lost one a few weeks ago, it would be nice to loose ONE MORE(are you listening Whoosh Fairy?) Would that be too much to ask? Would it spoil some vast eternal plan? Jeesh!
EVERYONE-Go say hi to Jiff(Peach's DS) on the thread titled "JIFF! Read This"; she is having surgery next week, and will see this thread tomorrow!
  • Good morning girlies!

Quiet on the home front today. Dh and I are running the cub scout meeting tonight. So I will be going home after work to make some "knot" cookies to follow our theme of Knot tying tonight.

Ruthie I was thinking of you last night and your ordeal with the pups getting into the chocolate. My Kudo, who is normally an angel in the house, got into my son's bag of hershey kisses. I did not need the syrup of ipicac (sp?) as I discovered (warning do not proceed to read if you have a week stomach) a foil puke pile. Needless to say, Kudo fogot to remove the foil wrappers from the hershey kisses. Bad Dog!

Peachie, have fun with your breakfast with the gals, give Jif a big hug for us all.

Jenniw, congrats on getting on the treadmill!

Pooky, good luck with the job hunt.

Leens, bet you had a happy afterwork reunion!

    Hensa, where are you!

Dottie, thanks for starting the Jiff thread.

Hello MamaJ, hugs to you and your family, hope all is well.

    Stay OP!
  • Good morning all my friends

You guys would not believe it but I started walking on my health walker last night and I am planning to keep it up now. My legs were really wobbling after 15 minutes but I guess it is a start.

Peach pit – It sounds like that friend of yours is a perfectionist I have a college who is like that, I told him the other day that he can be a real pain in the #$%@&*. But I guess we need people like that in our lives too. I am glad to hear about the 1lbs loss, remember 10 of that small 1lbs make 1 BIG 10lbs.
I am definitely going to hop over and say hallo to Jiff.

    Dondar – here I am!!!

To the rest of the gang have a lovely day and stay op, and as dottiejon said remember to drink that water!
  • Morning! Morning! Morning!

Feel top of the world this morning! Got the word yesterday that my condo in Ottawa is SOLD with a closing date of March 15! Only had to come down $1000 on the price. Even the agent was shocked as she listed it for only two days. So as of MArch 15 I'll be rich - for about 15 minutes - and then I'll pay off the mortgage.

The other piece of good news is that the damned quilt square made it to Ottawa yesterday via express post. I feel like a huge weight is off my back. (The scale actually went down 2 pounds overnight - maybe that is the secret!)

Sheesh - all you early birds are putting me to shame! Will pop back in alter to catch up on all the news.

    Higgles
  • Good Morning Ladies, I posted on yesterdays thread but guess most had called it a day by the time I got it on there. Hope you don't mind that I have dropped in. I saw where one of you made a quilt block so my ears when up immediatly, I love quilts and have made a few simple ones. Right now I'm in the "I just want to own all the neat stuff" mode instead of actually doing anything with what I have. I am currently on the Zoneperfect diet plan and it is a low carb way of life. Anyone here using that plan? Would love to know what type of low carbing that you all are doing.
    Thanks,
    SEMO
  • Welcome, SEMO. I spotted you yesterday but did not get time to say Hi.

Please feel free to join us. We all are on different versions of Low Carb - from Atkins to just watching carbs and following a calorie and fat counting plan.

A great buch of funny, intelligent and supportive women here. So far no regular guys - I mean regular posting guys! - but we live in hope.

    Once again, come on in!
  • Just poping in to say HI to all! I am stillhere and keeping my eye on all ofyou!! LOL
  • SEMO - Welcome to our wonderful board! You will love it here! Ditto on what Ruth said -- this place is full of funny, intellegent SUPPORTIVE women!

    Morning! Morning! Morning!

I am so excited to get back on my treadmill today! I can't wait. I feel bad because I put the girls in front of the tv, but hey, I need some exercise! And, I was happy yesterday that I relished in the pride all day long!

Ruthie - WOW! I can't believe your condo sold so quickly! Congratulations! That is such fabulous news!

Today we aren't doing too much. I didn't make it to the bank yesterday, so we are going today. I am also looking up stuff for gifted children. I'm beginning to get the realization that I might have one. This has been a hard struggle for me, because I don't want people to think I am just a "gloating mom", but she really is a smarty. So, she's getting tested and then we will see about finding a program or something for her. This is still in the early stages, so we'll see how it goes.

I hope everyone here and everyone to come has a GREAT day! Drink your water. (I drank 174 oz yesterday -- thought I would float away )
  • Hi Everyone!!! Didn't want you to forget me!! It has been so busy here!! Had a 3 day weekend, but jammed it full of stuff to do--the warm weather we have been having put me in the mood for spring cleaning among other things. It is Thursday and it still looks fairly clean--that NEVER happens! DS did end up catching my sinus infection so I had him to the doctor on Monday to the tune of $52.00 for the office call and $115 for the antibiotic! My husband's insurance is the kind where you pay for the meds up front and then whenever they feel like it they send you 80% back. It was NOT in the budget!
I guess I should just be glad we do have insurance! We've had LOTS of basketball games this last week and more to come. Report cards here at my school go home tomorrow, so that has been a lot of work to get ready for. My 3rd graders are still the age where they look forward to report card day! I have been doing a pretty good job of staying OP, but TOM came today so I refused to get on the scale as I feel BIG! Best get going--just wanted to stop in and say hello!!! I am going to go back and read up on posts--looks like everyone has been so busy!!!!! I've been missing you--sending those longing looks towards the computer, but not getting to sit down and do anything about it!! I am NOT going to get into that habit again--I get too much out of posting here! Take care you all!
  • Welcome SEMO!!!
  • Am I sitting? Really? Honest? I'm telling you I've been running my tail off all day and with so much to do I'm just a whirlwind on fire! Started off with taking my people to work/daycare, then to Orillia to shop (hi Wendy!), rush back home to pick my people up for lunch, then get the wee one for nap, resize some absolutely gorgeous calendar pictures and put them into frames (children painted to look like angels--aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh) and hang them on the wall in my kitchen, run downstairs to set the fire in the woodstove and now it's just a little computer time before I run upstairs again and start the breadmaker for some submarine buns I'm making for dh's lunch--WHEW!!!!

Ruthie, that's awesome about the condo--betcha never thoght it would happen so quick, eh?

Peachie, that's so amazing about Jiff--now if I could only do the same thing for myself!!

Hiya Hensa, Jenny, SEMO, Sue, dottie and anyone else I missed or just coming!
  • Thanks everyone, it's nice to have such a warm welcome. I'll give you a little info about me. I'm 52 (gosh can't believe I'm telling you that right off the bat) married (32 years same wonderful guy, most days anyway) we have two grown sons, the youngest a senior in college. (Celebration time when he gets out- one more semester after this one) DH and I will finally have the finances to take a weekend trip now and then. Oh and I work full time in an agricultural type business, so right now we are very slow, but work like crazy for 6 months at a time from sun up to dark thirty.

In the last year I have lost 35 pounds and have been at a stand still for probably the last three months, just can't seem to get a handle on motivation for some reason. Our oldest son is getting married in May and I would love to have the last 15 pounds off by then. I do exercise, or least I'm getting back into the habit. That's the thing, I was faithfully exercising everyday for a year then boom, just got lazy and skipped a day then two and well you know what happens then.
Didn't mean to post such a long one, but wanted to let you know a little about me........Now it's your turn.
  • Hello from Sweatsville!
I am in pain, and I feel tortured, and I hate exercising, but I am so proud of me I can't stand it! Hopefully it will show on the scales soon, if I can get my buddy up to a quicker pace. Well, she's trying

Semo, I just discovered quilting this past year, and already it is an addiction! I just love those gadgets!

Hope everyone has a great day!
  • Hey Chickies!
I've been MIA lately with just an occational post for a prayer or well wish to someone BUT I try to read here everyday! If I skip a day, I find myself wondering to myself how Ruthie's new baby is doing, if Peach has a new crafty project going, what Pooky is remodeling NOW, what wonderful thing DonDar is baking for her boys, if Janice can sneak around her DH to post, how Tippy is feeling, how Leens did back to work, etc., etc., etc. (I could go on and on here, ladies, please don't anyone feel left out)

A couple weeks ago I had a bad spasm in my back and barely got home from a shopping trip with youngest son. So, a client recommended a great Chiropractor and I have been undergoing treatment (I cannot beleive the things he does to my back and neck!) and feeling better! So much better that I have started (yes, the dreaded 'E' word, look away if you are squimish) walking again! And not a moment too soon either as my weight has now toppled my all time high weight by 2 pounds! (EEEKKK!) Maybe I will NOW be motivated to cut out sugar/flour from my diet - could be but I'm not making any rash statements at this time.

Home bookkeeping business is still going strong. Melis is a wonderful 15 year old Sophmore artist/computer freak. Bryan is a now-turn-shy-and-won't-go-anywhere 13 year old 7th grader. He says he hates baseball now but we are still going to make him play. (mean, right? but he has no other plan and would keep himself sequestered in the house all the time if we didn't intervene) Cody is a sweet 11 year old 6th grader, who is on the basketball team and will also play baseball this spring. Brad is the same - no worse, no better and the WC settlement is in sight but who knows when. Maybe by the fall?

Love ya guys and I will TRY to post more often!

    Kel
