New Member - Hit a Plateau......????

  • Hi. My name is Emma and I just found this site today. I've been working really hard for several months to lose weight and have gone from 288 to 261. I'm proud of the weight I've lost, but I'm stuck here and have lots more to lose. I'm looking for motiviation, inspiration, advice, success stories, etc... from people who have managed to get over a hump and continued to lose weight. I've been at 260-265 for a couple months and just can't seem to break into the 250's.

I'm not following any specific plan. I've just been eating low fat meals and walking. I thought about trying Alli to get over this plateau (I even bought it). But, I'm kind of afraid to take it after reading about the possible side effects.

I hope that just having a place I can share/vent might help.

    Emma
  • Hi Emma, and

We do have an Alli support thread here...you may want to ask the folks there about side effects, since you have already purchased the product:

Other than that, just look around! We have so many wonderful, supportive people here.

I had a six month plateau once. Sometimes, your body just doesn't cooperate. But you CAN break through it.

You also might need to start following more specific plan to get your food intake to a point where you'll lose at this point. As we get smaller, our bodies require less food to run, so you'll have to eat less to continue losing. It may take some experimentation to get the scale moving again.

for the amazing success you've had so far. Keep posting - can't wait to hear more from you soon!
  • Hi Emma,
Just wanted to welcome you and encourage you not to give up through this frustrating time. I am not a big fan of those plateaus!! You are right around the same weight as me....wanting to hit those 250's too ~ one day!!
Just keep doing what you are doing and one of these days you WILL break through and be so happy!!
You are doing everything right so it has to happen, right!!
    Good luck,
    God Bless,
