60 Days Abstinent!

  • Today is my 60 days! I am so happy to still be doing OA and still experiencing all this wonderful recovery.

Over the last 60 days I have: planned everything I have eaten, eaten three meals a day and nothing in between, eating clean, healthy food as part of those meals, learnt to manage social eating, despite having no particular trigger foods I have eaten chocolate only once (planned and in moderation as part of a meal out with family) and haven't eaten any potato chips, no fast food, no processed foods - which has led to a huge improvement in my health, lost 21lbs, dropped 2 dress sizes, not eaten when I have been sad or stressed out or lonely and am learning how to deal with those feelings and I have a good relationship with a higher power. Thanks to my higher power, I haven't binged, I haven't over-eaten - yay!

This board has been such a huge help too. I have looked back and seen some of the old timers posting their 30 days or 60 days makes me feel all happy and believe that one day at a time this is a programme for the long haul.

Malinki - who just noticed her 90 days is on Christmas Day!

I am day 5. I have so much to look forward to. Every now and then i get a sinking feeling about not eating my favourite foods - especially heading to Christmas parties etc. But Then I take stock and remember something I heard someone share in a meeting online - I get to look forward to the company and conversations! My whole social life will change and relationships. I can talk and chat and make sure i am around inspiring people...
Heres to being day 60 - i will be there with God's strength in 55 days!!
