Hello! newbie - emotional eating anyone?

  • HI
I just joined the site and am excited about being a member of this community. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. I have to lose about 10 pounds but really struggle with emotional eating.
  • Hi & ^^ There's a featherweights forum area that you really might benefit from!
Emotional eating is a problem that many of us struggle with. Hopefully talking (or typing as the case may be) it out will help.

    Best of luck!
  • Hi Cathy,
Emotional eating is one of the hardest parts of weight loss and effect nearly everyone trying to lose weight. What are your emotional triggers? Its good to come up with a plan of what you will do when reach your emotional trigger. Do you have a time frame on how long to lose your weight?

    Regards,
    Richard

  • Emotional Eating
    Hi Cathy
I am new too, and boy do I hear ya on the emotional eating..I have a feeling that since we can all talk to each other about our problems- we are going to do great!!! I just saw a place on this site that you can log your diet, which I think would be helpful. This way we can be accountable for everything we eat. Good luck!!! If you do decide to joint the featherweights- I will see you there. I have met a few people there and they are great!!! I am thrilled about signing up for 3FC.
  • yes yes yes emotional eating. seems like it's a crutch, it just feels good to eat chocolate when I'm down. Is chocolate not ' a feeling good food "? Problem is it only lasts for the time I'm eating it, after I feel terrible.

I am trying to trade chocolate for a walk, when i feel down or stressed I plug in my MP3 player and walk, even if it's a short walk, when i get back the chocolate craving has usually passed. I don't keep chocolate in the house anyhow so that helps as well. I sure miss it though, crazy...I think about chocolate often.

    good luck to you
  • I feel your pain
    Hello Ladies,

I am brand new to this community also. I also struggle with emotional eating. I feel like I am at rock bottom since my weight has risen to 230lbs. It is such a struggle but I am so confident that we have already won the battle we just need to make up our mind that we can and will do this. We all have the strength to do this. Our minds and body should not have control over us. It is going to be work but I know that we can all do this. Lets continue to encourage one another to be our greatest selves.

This is the link to a great article that I read this morning.

Ps. My goal is about 50lbs (WOW)
