30 Something's Daily Chat: Monday, 11/5

  • I really didn't want to start the new thread on a sad note, but it is 12:25am. Gran passed away about 9:30 tonight. I spent most of the day up there with her. She was pretty out of it, but I did get a couple smiles from her. She told us last week she was ready to go to Glory, and now she has. She is with her Lord. Thanks for thinking about us and praying for us all lately.

BTW, I have an interview at 8:00am. Please pray & good thoughts! Thanks.
  • Aww Lauren I'm soo sorry to hear about gma. But at least she's at peace now. Living like that is miserable. She's free now. Just hold onto your good memories of her. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

: sending good vibes for your interview.

Sorry I've been mia again. Bill had 3 days off work last week so we were doing stuff with the man. We went to a pumpkin patch and did some window shopping at our outdoor mall. And then of course there was Halloween! Ricky did so good. It took him forever to say trick or treat but he finally got it. Then he woke up Thursday wanting to go again. I have only had like 4 pieces of candy total!! I'm pretty impressed with myself. I was also great about working out last week and couldn't figure out why I hadn't lost anything...then AF showed up! So I'll have to see later this week if it paid off.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • lauren - sorry to hear about gran. but i know what you are going thr. At least you were able to make gran smile a few. Hugs to you...and good luck on the interview. I will probably be dealing with the same thing soon with GP. Hang in there

    Hey there mamabear

Lisa- sorry shopping with dad isn't fun
    Hannah- hope you feel better.

Well off to work i go...another day another dollar..lol. I have a run of 6 days ina row, i'll probably be fried by the end...but at least i have a full wkend coming up. If my gp passes before then, i'll prob have to rearrange my schedule with other drs and loose my wkend to go to his funeral. However, he appears to be pretty stubborn and not ready to go..so if i have the full wkend, i might go over to my sis's and go ride my horse. We'll see. I've by jonesing to go riding. Hope everyone has a beautiful day!
  • Morning all...

Lauren, sooo sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm glad she's finally gone home after suffering, at least you can take comfort in that. HOpefully you were able to get some rest before your interview today. Best of Luck!

Hanna, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully today will be better for you. I taped Housewives too, cause I was watching the EAgles get their butts kicked...I think our season's pretty much over...

Beachmomma, I saw you live in PA...where?? I'm in Bucks County, outside of Philly.

Patricia, hope you are able to get your weekend off. sounds like your g-pa is quite a fighter!!! Have a good week at work!

Did some shopping yesterday, the kids have asked for a lot of little inexpensive things, which is lucky for us cause we tightned our budget for this year. Should still be a really good Christmas for them, though. Off to the mall to VS...have a free panty coupon ( I love their cotton bikinis, they don't ride up on you!!) and 10.00 off a bra so I'm gonna treat myself. THen I have to get some laundry & cleaning done. First have to take DD to Preschool for her picture day. On a good note, I lost another two pounds!!! things are finally starting to work!!! I might even be able to fit into my old pants by Christmas..that would be a super gift to myself!!!

Hey mamabear, john, Alicia, Sheila, Laurie, Karen, everyone else...hope you all have a good day!

    later,
    Pam
  • Lauren: I'm so sorry about your Gran. I'm glad you got to spend some time with her. I hope your interview went well.

GG: to you too. I hope your GP isn't suffering. It's so hard to watch our loved ones hurting.

Pam: I've been making Christmas presents this year (one of the reasons I've been MIA, I've been making note cards). I'm looking forward to shopping for just the little ones this year! I love watching them get so excited with their presents.

We went bowling yesterday. How embarrassing is it that the 4.5 yr old beat my pants off? Of course, he was using bumpers and I wasn't. (sounds like a good excuse to me! LOL. I can't seem to keep the ball out of the gutters. We took the kids to see The Bee Movie on Friday night. It was cute. Cass is so not ready for movies. Luckily it was a family/dinner theater so she didn't really bother anybody. We played in the lobby for about 10 min and the rest of the time she was able to play by our seats.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Lauren: I am very sorry about Gran. I know you are probably tired of hearing it but that is what happens when you have so many people that care about you. Imagine all the people that your Gran has touched their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

    Take care
    sheila
  • hi everyone

Lauren I am so sorry about grma, but on the other hand she is not suffering any more, how is your mother? hugs an preyers your way! love ya, good luck w/interview

GG I hope you get to go see your horse, yes it does sound like grpa is very stubborn.

    Sheila good to see you~

Karen how sweet of you to make hand made gifts, I love hand made stuff, I wish every one else appreciated it as much!

Pam have a good time shopping!

    Hi Molly!

Well I am not doing to hot today, still pretty crabby, my cleaning lady did come today and I don't think it was a good idea at all, the house smells like cleaning products, on a normal day it would be wonderful, not today. I am going back to bed after I answer emails.
I will see you guys later,

    Hugs,

    Hanna
  • Lauren, big hugs to you and your family. Rough day for an interview. I am sure you had an angel with you though

Lisa, I agree with you 100% about the shopping. DS was with me yesterday at Target, he was trying to pick himself out clothes. I'll stick to getting him clothes when I am alone. I am sure they feel the same about us though.

Hanna, sorry you are crabby. I was crabby for a few days, it sure does stink. Feel better soon.

Karen, I think I'm the worst bowler too and I am sure both of my kids would beat me. I don't have an athletic bone in my body.

Hey Pam, mamabear, Sheila, Joan, GG, John and any one else I missed!

Gonna go and get dinner started. Everyone have a great nite!
    Alicia
  • Lauren, I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. Grandmothers are priceless

mamabear, sounds like you had a busy week. Sometimes those are the best! Someone at work told me the other day that they use to trick or treat for 2 nights. I thought that was interesting! I'll bet the kids loved it!

Gator, I hope you do get the chance to do some horseback riding this weekend!

Pam, I am right outside of Pottsville (if that means anything) we are a good 2 hours drive to the airport in Philly.

I have been catching up on Desperate Housewives via the internet. I can watch it any time and don't have to worry about whose turn it is to use the big TV

I had a long day at work....

Hubby made mahi mahi (sp?) for us to take to lunch and topped that off with a beautiful spring salad from the deli next door (gotta love a man that cooks!) It was fabulous. My boss brought in a pumpkin pie for desert made with low fat milk and splenda! I was so full that I didn't get a piece tho. I was tempted to take a small piece first but I'm kinda glad that I didn't. I'm sure there will be some left tomorrow.

I'm still very tired all of the time. I've started taking a daily vitamin hoping that will help or that my body will just wake up and get with the program! Not too much to report really but am looking forward to a long hot bath tonight!
  • Beachmomma...Isn't that where Yeungling is brewed??? We drove through there on our way to Knoebel's...It's about 1 1/2 hours from me...I'm northwest of Philly.
  • Evening Kids...
Busy days on this end and haven't had much computer time lately. We've had lots of company for the past two weekends and I'm looking forward to a quiet November. I doubt that it'll happen but one can always hope;-). Lots going on right now with DS and his medication. It's pretty much stopped working for him so we're going to increase it yet again. Overall, things are going really well I'm just super tired tonight. Everything always seems magnified when a person is tired. I need to go put three little chicks to bed and then I'm off for my walk. Talk to everyone soon ~ Joan

Lauren ~ I'm so sorry to read about your grandmother. Big Hug ...
  • Pam,

Yep :-) The home of Yeungling beer. I haven't been to tour the brewery but have driven past the mansion plenty of times. It's a neat little place. We've only been here for 5 1/2 months. Moved up from VA to accept a job offer.
