Hello! I have been poking around for a few days on the site and finally thought I would stop by and say hello. I"m really glad I found this place bc I could really use some help in my weight loss goals. I never thought I would get this big, For the last 5 years or so I hovered around the 250 mark. I always thought I carried my weight well, and didn't appear as big as I was. ( Or at least that was the lie I told myself ) Now, I had some health issues ( allergies ) where I was put on a steroid, one of the side effects was weight gain, next thing I knew I was in the doctors for my annual visit and I was 278!! I wanted to bust into tears. How and when did this happen?? It didn't help that the week after that I had to be measured for my little sisters wedding in July. I started a diet right away and have really been doing my best to stick to it. In 6 weeks I have lost 12 lbs, which is a great start. I currently weigh in at 266, and looking forward to seeing that number get much much smaller in the weeks and months ahead of me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope to become a regular in no time and get inspiration from everyone here as well as giving it.

G,day BornToFly and welcome, Yay a big pat on the back to you 12lbs in 6 wks thats is great and with a motivation like your little sisters wedding I,m sure you will succeed. I know what it is like I was on steroid meds for pain and it is the pits weight gain being a side affect. But you are doing well keep it up.

Take care you can do it and there is plenty of support and advice going around here so just ask.

Hello BorntoFly I'm new too and I read your post about weight creeping up and up without us noticing nodding my head .. I know exactly what you mean!
I'm 211lbs, I feel like I look in the mirror and don't see me, I see some fat thing looking back and me and it's not me!!

Anyhoo , 12 lbs in 6 weeks is perfect, well done. I find the hardest thing in a diet is keeping it going .. diets take patience and consistency. I wish there was a magic wand but there ain't (sigh)

Ah well - just wanted to say hello and looking forward to hearing about more weight loss.

G,day and a big to you, bluesunshine, JenJam and annie rocket and again BornToFly I love your Avatar, you can do it don,t think of it as a diet think of it as a change to a healthy lifestyle, and JenJam don,t be so hard on yourself take a look at the whole picture when you look in the mirror see the beautiful person that is on the inside , your right it takes hard work but you know its worth it hey your worth it all of you are, what are you all doing to get the weight off. Like they say jump in and get your feet wet everywhere you go here at 3fc there is someone ready to help and give advice and make you feel welcome, they are all so nice.
